The problem was, Shane was in the wrong group of people. In the beginning, he and Daryl were the only ones who were willing to do what was necessary. Everyone else bashed him for his actions, hated how he did things. Yet Rick became him in the end and everyone watched as the world unfolded to exactly what Shane was. All he tried to do was make everyone strong but they couldn’t listen.

shane is my favorite character , he acts like a sane person , he makes mistakes but he also fights for survival against all odds back when he shot otis he didnt do it to safe his skin but to safe the life of a boy that wasnt even his own son i hate how even now in season 11 nearly 20 years after the outbreak the characters still make the dumbest decicions
