In todays video I’ll be doing Donna Jeans bedroom makeover. I’m so excited to get into her room and make it a space she feels at peace and that and that she loves.
I hope this video gives you some ideas if you have a tween or teen daughter and would like to change up her bedroom.
On my house decluttering journey I am finding it is so satisfying to get a room decluttered then transform it with new paint and decor ❤️❤️

Donna Jean's bedroom is beautiful. She has great taste, her decor will go a long way and you're a great mum allowing her to have choices and not just doing it for her. 👍

Love how it turned out!! For the dresser, you can just take the top drawer of the nightstand to Home Depot or Benjamin Moore and they can color match that to be exact! Or even one of the curtain panels if you want it a bit darker. It’s my favorite way to get a custom color!

Donna Jean did such a great job selecting her decor items! For the dresser, bring the drawer from the nightstand to the paint store and have them match it!

Yes, duvets are amazing. I wash my sheets and duvet once a week and my comforter once a month. We actually put our comforter in the duvet instead of just draping it across the bed. My 17 year old son has a white comforter, one guest bedroom does and our bedroom does. I like the clean crisp look. This looks great. Donna Jean did a great job picking this out. ❤

This so far is my favorite makeover! I like the cream furniture with the darker bed, this way they don’t blend together. The yellow accent color is a nice touch.

Donna Jean did an amazing job, I love the colours she chose, your so lucky having three girls, I have a boy and girl that are five years apart so they have never been into the same things at the same time. I hope they share their room as long as possible, kids grow up too quickly, I still think mine should be little but they are now 29 and 24 🥺 enjoy every moment ❤️❤️

I have always put the comforter inside a duvet cover. If you do that you can wash the duvet cover every week like you would the top sheet and the comforter inside does not need to be washed very often.

Great makeover, Donna Jean has great taste! 😻 Maybe make the nightstands into a table for her crafting? Just have a long plank/ board on top and then still super solid and great storage..

OMG!?! Memories!! I used to have the netting- MVA @ 14 + 4 months in hospital, = lots of stuffed animals from visitors!! Like the 💚💚💚 pillow cases!!

Cream colour idea - take the drawer from the new nightstand to Home Depot and get it colour matched. I’m not sure if they have a paint mixing service in the US but in the uk we can get Valspar paint colour matched. They scan whatever item you want colour matched with a special machine and mix the paint colour for you xx

Love this we did this with our kids. My father was a painter. So we let them pick fun colors and themes. We went to goodwill, flea markets to get items to referbish. We had a blast and they had one of a kind bedrooms.

I use quilts and have to have the top sheet. I think a yellow pot for the plant plus a picture with yellow above the bed would like great. Donna Jean's bedroom looks so peaceful.

Her bedroom came out so pretty! She really has mature taste for her age. You can tell she is artistic. 😍 Just a suggestion, for the full length mirror, could go on the back of the door. That’s where we put ours, out of the way 👍 Thanks for another great video 🤩

you can use white contact paper for the top of the dresser. quick and easy plus you wipe up any mess

Hi Jodie. If Donna Jean would be interested, I think by that little bit of timber showing on top where the paint has rubbed off, if you sanded the top back to bare wood, it would almost match her bed head and just paint the cream colour on the drawers and rest of the cabinet. Hi Jodi! Since you asked: 1) yes, save the nightstands for art supplies...they are better made & art is for life. 2) like curtains. 3) plants fake... Yes adjust if you want to. Yes. A nicer pot would be great. Have Danna Jean pick 1 out. A nice oriental design would look great with that decor pallet. 4) stuffie net...I know both sides of that... She will change it up how she wants it anyway. Lol 5) nice to switch up vids. Yes those soft pillow covers are nice. 6) birds...well yeah it's pretty much all spring. 😆

Edie yes I love the idea of an oriental design. I’ll hand Donna look at some. Yes those night stands will be sturdier for all her supplies. Now I just have to figure how I place them. Oh the birds. Gosh I love watching them and love seeing the babies grow. I guess I’ll have to wait until summer to wash the house.

@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 if you use a piece of board across the top of both ( if 1 is higher add an extra piece on top of it to level it) kind of like a crafting "desk". Then paint or stain all the same. She can even stencil or freehand designs on them afterwards to signify what they're for if she likes.

Just a suggestion....maybe get Donna Jean a jewelry box the same color(black or dark brown?) as the vanity and keep it on the bureau. That way the darker is carried around the room creating some balance. Also, even though the vanity has a pull-up mirror, I think a hanging mirror would look really pretty above it...again balancing the light bouncing off the bigger mirror atop the bureau.

Beautiful makeover! my mom once got some paint and glue on cream colored carpet and she took some very sharp scissors and literally cut the top of the fibers off. Not too deep but it worked! No one knew the difference! 😀

The bedroom looks beautiful. I would buy a pot for the plant . I would take a drawer of the dresser and take it to the Home Depot and have them match the color .
