Glad you watched the Trench Trilogy in order (Jumpsuit/Nico/Levitate). The Blurryface album was a character study, Trench is a concept album going deeper into the character of Blurryface. So these three videos introduce the world of Dema that is controlled by 9 Bishps (the “Niners”). Dema represents mental health struggles and it’s hard to break free and escape. If you notice in the beginning, Tyler adds the yellow flower 🌼 to the drawer with other flowers, most likely indicating the number of times he’s tried to escape. The Banditos, led by Josh the Torchbearer, try to rescue him. The secret handshake was a throwback to the Stressed Out video.

The Banditos (Tyler’s friends) help him escape from Dema (which I correlate to depression). About Jumpsuit, it was the first in the trilogy, he was stuck in a Trench, being pulled in to depression, and his friends are trying to help him, but from a distance, but fail. Levitate next (maybe have lyrics up).

Levitate is next! The bishops can't see yellow, so the banditos wear yellow, but it also symbolizes hope.

a lot of people explained the lore/meaning, but in terms of order, it's technically Heavy Dirty Soul (from the Blurrfyface album) then Jumpsuit, Nico and the niners, and Levitate. But, as you'll see, they all connect bc the theme is essentially how Tyler keeps trying to escape Dema (depression) and Nico/the other bishops who symbolize different aspects of insecurities (Nico/Blurryface being the main one- and from my understanding represents his song writing/singing voice insecurities- which is why he paints his neck and hands black and the lyrics of Jumpsuit in the bridge highlight that). But in all these videos he tries to escape Dema/depression but continues being taken. Because depression is a cycle- you escape but can be taken back unexpectedly. So you can essentially watch the videos starting with any- but keeping the order- and it will still make sense. So, while Jumpsuit is the first of the trilogy with HDS being the prologue if you will, you can still watch (for example) starting with Nico, then Levitate, then HDS, then Jumpsuit- cause it's a circle/cycle- and it will still fit the story. Hope that made sense! I only know this after reading all the input from fans, so I can't take credit 😅 and yes it's a lot😅 but I do think TØP did a phenomenal job explaining the reality of depression/mental illness in a realistic yet artistic way.

There's an entire lore behind the 3 albums with Dema, blurryface, the bishops next album finishes the lore. There are KZfaq videos that aren't to long that explain the lore.

Tyler is intentional with everything he does. Couple little extras, the Bishops can't see yellow, the color of hope and friendship, and a lot of themes and imagery carry through all of their music. At 5:40 you'll hear a subtle "sotidnab era ew" which is "we are banditos" spelled/said backwards. It kinda sounds like he says "so tempted by you"

you’ve actually so nearly got it but the other way round. dema and the bishops (the dude in the red cloak) is where tyler/clancy is comfortable. that’s a place of depression and low mood and there’s something safe and comforting in that that leads tyler to keep being dragged back. he’s trying to run away to the banditos in trench which, for him, is uncertain territory. but he keeps failing and getting recaptured…..

Hi. At the beginning of the song you can hear the words sung backwards, in fact it is the slogan "We denounce Vialism. You will leave Dema and head true east. We are banditos". Vialism is a false religion founded by Nico and The Niners. It involves worshiping artificial neon light and celebrating suicide. Tyler rejects this religion and wants to escape from Dema, which is a symbol of, among other things, depression. However, it is not easy, but Josh and the rest of the Banditos want to help him and go to the true east, which can be interpreted in various ways, but one of the theories is that they want to follow Jesus. The yellow tape symbolizes hope. Next up is Levitate. This is the ending of this trilogy.
