Aiden and myself realised a few weeks back that we hadn't really explained this new album all that well - we had just put a few haphazard posts on social media explaining it was a new film 'kind of like Where the Earth Meets the Sky but bigger'. Then, about three weeks ago, the thought dawned on me: 'why haven't we done a trailer yet'. This video hopefully explains most of what this project is - the thinking behind the new style, the story of my journey across America, and the reason this project has taken five years to make so far. Hope you enjoy!

Wow, I've listened to your music for YEARS, Marcus, so _how am I only just seeing this now?!?!_ I can't wait to watch this. I'm listening through the music album now, and saving so many songs to listen to again and again.

I'm so excited to watch this. I'm from Maryland and I bounce around the coast with my 7 year daughter (who is a HUGE fan of yours). To see the US from both of your eyes I think will be not only amazing to learn from but allows those of us who are from America to appreciate our wonderful and beautiful country. Hearing these new (for me) artists I'm sure will be a delight. The fact that you and Aiden went out of your comfort zones to experience and compose different genres for this shows how amazing you both are at composition. I'm looking forward to this album and documentary. 💖

Thanks Nicole! I really am keen to see what folks from your side of the pond think of my experience, but more than that it's so pleasant to hear you say that about the music - both Aiden and myself have worried at times at the gamble we're taking to do something that's so different to what people usually hear from us, so it means alot to hear you say that it's something to look forward to. :)

@@MarcusWarnerMusic I can see it why it could be viewed as risky. But when you create music the energy coming from is so heartfelt and soul deep. That will travel through any genre you both do. Besides isn't the American Dream all about taking risks and making it happen? You have literally recreated that concept (in my opinion) and if people can't accept that then that is thier problem.

Recently I tried going on a road trip across the western United States with my mom, but it failed miserably lol. We plan to try again in June so I am so beyond excited to see that this is coming out at such a convenient time. I reminisce of my past travels across the country while I listen to your songs, so to see that you create such beautiful film and music with a similar passion is just so... wow. You are my ultimate inspiration. Can’t wait to see what this has in store. (:

I wish I knew how you find inspiration anywhere anymore. The world is so backwards and crazy. I listen to your tracks daily to keep my head up and my heart light. You're music is stunning and gorgeous. In so many ways this music is a gift. Thank you for making the world a little brighter.

Whilst I don't advocate for burying one's head in the sand, my view is to try and not let things that are beyond my control get me down too much - we can all do our little bit (where the current world situation is concerned, politics and the like) but I think that, as music is my 'thing', and without a doubt the most positive thing I can put into the world whilst I'm here, that's what I choose to concentrate on. Plus, there's loads of inspiration to be found out there, but it often needs us to get away from the tv/computer screen from a while, it's easy to get sucked into to the endless negativity we're presented with! Thank you so much for your kind words :)

Hi Marcus, random follower here, hope you guys all had good fun... And wow I have to say, when I heard your track In Arcadia a few times I thought that might be the best sounding instrumental piece since Pachelbel, so anyway I was thinking, maybe if you get some free time now, you should make a brand new Christmas single within the next 25 days! You don’t have to but if you did it might be really important and powerful for people right now🙏🏻🎄 so, stay humble and keep writing! ☝🏻☝🏻

Thanks David, honestly mate we've all been guilty of sitting back from time to time - one of the many revelations that America made me realise when I got home was just what a teeny tiny amount of my own country I had experienced. I've loved Celtic music for as long as I can remember and it's cultural home has, for my entire life, been only an eight hour drive away - relatively speaking, that's nothing. Had I ever been? Nope, I'd never been further north than Birmingham. I think we all have a tendency to say 'well it's right there, I'll get round to it later' - when I visited America on the other hand , it was a set amount of time and who-knows-when-i'll-be-back type of scenario, hence why I jam-packed it full of travel and was able to make this film in the first place... it was a kind of fear of not making the most of the limited time frame. Sometimes it's good to not think too hard but to just get out there, tell yourself that you are going to go travelling (be it a day or a year) - and stick to that plan. The very least you can achieve from it is a bunch of inspiration which could kickstart something.

@@MarcusWarnerMusic im okay with not traveling. it terrifies me, frankly. what i mean was that you made this movie. you got something to show to people. while i been working on art and writing for years and still got nothing to show for myself. i feel like im running out of time. why am I not rich and famous yet? why do people not like, what I do? like, what am i even doing, man? Im seeing Youtrubers promoting their books on their channel, and people flock to, because when have they ever failed them, hm? I dont have a channel to promote unrelated stuff. I dont have a followship that eats out of my hands. Does that mean my books is bad? i dont know. but im not famous enough to sell them anyway. so many people, people my age, are doing stuff. getting somewhere. starting a business, a family. getting their life together. it just makes me .... sad. yknow? being left out. left behind.

@@AnnaCurser Ah right, got you. Well I can't advocate for how one goes about making their way as an author online in this day and age, it's one of those things that I'm still stuck in the past with - I only read paperbacks. But if it's anything like the music industry, and I suspect it is, it's no doubt gruelling. There are a couple of other similarities that I think I can ascribe to writing with some confidence too though - firstly, whilst it's a romantic idea, getting into a creative industry with the goal of becoming rich and famous is a fool's errand; nobody can guarantee something like that and the thing I've learnt with music is that you should be in it to put your heart and soul into something creative; should you be lucky enough to achieve success then that should be a byproduct of doing what you love. That's not to say you shouldn't work for it - alot of musicians forget that to make headway, you really need to work your arse off - but there's no set timeline for success. Isn't a commonly shared fact that JK Rowling was completely unheard of until she wrote Harry Potter, by which point she was nearly 40? Point is... keep working, work hard on something you love for it's own sake, and as tempting as it always is, DON'T compare yourself to others.
@AnnaCurser
@AnnaCurser 2 жыл бұрын
@@MarcusWarnerMusic thats actually really wise for someone that young. i think i knew that already, but i forgot. if you dont art with your heart then why do it at all, right? after all ... "art" is the biggest part of "Heart". Cough. its just hard to ignore the pressure. people pressure you to be successful already, all the damn time. like I dont have a right to be in this world, if I dont make a shitton of money. i cant pay anything just by being creative and promising to stick to it. being depening on others to patreon you, is eating me alive. being independend as an artist, is literally making me dependend on the good will of others. Do I really have to choose between Heart and Money? Or will I go insane eventually anyway?
