Haha whoever told you they were “never cute” is trippin’ bro. They started out with girly/cute concept. Their earlier hits like Cheer Up, TT, and even a bit later like What Is Love? Is all cute. I’m not into cute/girly concepts which was why I kinda paid Twice no mind for a good long while. But when I Can’t Stop Me came out, I gave them a second look. And even though I still wouldn’t consider cute/girly concept my thing, now that I know better, I really appreciate TWICE for what they are. Well produced pop music, excellent choreo and synchronization, ability to really embody and execute on concepts, very capable and energetic live performers, and funny members with seemingly great relationships with each other.

@@justpat2316 Consider these: Ooh-Ah - it’s their debut Cheer Up - Very cutesy. I can’t handle it…but Jihyo kills the hook like she’s known to do. TT - warning, it’s cute to the max, dialed up to 1000. Might kill you. Likey - Still cute. But you can tell the production/sound is starting to mature…hints that they’re evolving. What Is Love? - Still cute. But this song will be forever stuck in my head, for better or worse. Lots of ONCEs’ favorite song, I think. Dance the Night Away - more signs of moving towards a more mature sound. In my mind, it’s kind of a prequel to Alcohol Free. Feel Special - no longer cute, actually came out after Fancy, which you’ve already reacted to. This is my actual favorite from them. The lyrics, the production, the sets… 👨🍳 💋 At this point, let’s just throw in their first English release while we’re at it. The Feels - Jihyo and Nayeon killing the pre-chorus parts. Will never get Jihyo singing “lightning straight to my heart” out of my spine. It just lives there.

In the category of girl groups, they are indeed perfect. Whether online or offline, they have done what all girl groups should do. Online, they're never lacked of comebacks and they've released successful multiple hit songs. They have made comeback 8 times in 2018, but we have never seen their negative emotions on stage. Offline, they often interact with fans on social media and feel very approachable compared to other idols. They are one of the girl groups that I have a lot of respect for.

Your face when you played the song and Momo just attacks the screen 😭 Literally laughed out loud 😭 Also when Jihyo has her solo moment 😭 (Fun fact: Momo and Jihyo were being filmed while on a date together for TWICE's variety show, and Momo confessed to Jihyo that she was mesmerized by her during Alcohol-Free...literally said "she was even prettier than before, if that was possible" lmfao) Anyway, while you do talk a lot about MoHyo (which I appreciate since I love them lmfao) I think you've always done pretty well giving the other girls their flowers in the other vids! Props tho for putting in more effort here 😂 Love that you're doing the MV + dance performance format btw! The MVs are cool and visually stunning and all, but there's a lot of incredible choreo missing that you can only appreciate when watching the DPs. 1. 1:50 Mina's vocal tone is such a delight! It's always so pleasing to hear and so light and elegant and adds a lot of variety 2. 9:00 Dahyun really be killing it in this MV! Her visuals really fit this beach vibe (esp with that hair) and she's got one of my fave smiles in the group--it's a 1000-Watter that definitely brings to mind that summery vibe 3. 14:24 Love it when you compliment Tzuyu's dancing 😭 She's sorta quiet off-camera but she really kills in a lot of dances 💖 4. 18:07 Lmfao 😂When you're done watching the MVs, you should watch those compilations of Momo and Jihyo dance battling each other 😂 The choreographers love putting them side by side HAHA Anyway, thanks for the reaction vids! You're one of my favorites, I check KZfaq everyday to see if you've got a new TWICE video :)) Love to see you grooving to the song in the background too haha

Their early stuff is cute. Because they were young when they started out, a lot of their early music reflects that. I think they've done a really great job and progressing in an age appropriate way and growing up and maturing with their audience. However, they've always had a little edge to them underlining it all. I think you'll enjoy their early tracks too.

JYP really pushes for perfect synchronization in dances - Itzy is another excellent example of girls smashing choreo. They're not really my vibe, but I do appreciate a few of their songs and I really like how they execute their dances. You can tell they're a JYP group. Twice is just on another level though, probably due to their seniority in the industry by now, and how long they've all worked and danced together.

For discography, it's best to listen to it in release order so you can see there growth thru the years. The Korean releases first, then you can listen to their Japanese tracks next. Then their B-sides to complete the journey.

6:21 Who in the comments said that their concepts was "never cute"? Twice's first few hit singles were built on cuteness and with good reason -- they were all pretty young at the time and that's what they were known for. From the music, to the MVs, down to the clothes and choreography. But now that they're all adults, it's only natural to move away from that and go with more mature themes, but still maintaining that "Twice" quality that makes them so good. And props to you for spotlighting the other girls. It's kinda overwhelming, haha Edit: Just saw that someone else brought this up and addressed it. Again, Twice's members, talent and discography is really overwhelming but they're worth it!

i loved with how well you received this song!! when twice releases something that isn't your standard kpop release, people are skeptical and it takes TIME to warm up to it. them successfully pulling off unusual concepts demonstrates how versatile they can be, and i don't believe it's because they've already established themselves as a group that they can get away with it. another one of their 'unconventional' releases is called signal - everybody hated it, including the girls (except sana), but it won song of the year at the 2017 MAMA Awards! :DD it's one of their more cutesy (?) songs but it's really addicting ngl

I know you're still getting through the main title tracks, but I would highly recommend you check out "Formula of Love" album, it's heavily 70's disco/80's sound that you liked from their previous songs. It also has 3 member unit songs (Push & Pull - Hello - 1,3,2) and Cactus (written by Jihyo) which is a big vocal ballad. I think you'll really like Moonlight, full English, really has 80's Whitney Houston type sound. If you think Momo, Nayeon and Chaeyoung are a problems, you should check out their 4th World Tour performance of Hello.

TWICE are so talented that from the start they could of embodied any concept; They were teen when they started so they debuted with bubbly/a bit girl crush concept with "like oh ah " then they comeback with an energetic/cute concept (cheer leading) concept with cheer up , the girls personalites are very cute&sweet in real life so their cute concept was so natural & well executed that made even people who are not so fun of the concept like it & made the whole Korean nation fall for them; they kept with the energetic/fun/cute concepts for their title tracks but if u see TWICE covers or some bsides&stages from their debut u will see how dangerous they are from the start! like even before debut a lot of them were so sexy/mature especially the Jline (Japanese members:They are big problems & not just Momo , so be aware!) so TWICE would slay any concept if they wanted but they stayed much with their bubbly/positive concept because it was so them (in real life) & it was well perceived&loved by the public! But what is amazing is how their sound grow with them, so if u watch them from the begining u will see them portrying a story of teenager who grow searching for the meaning of love; hence their debut album name is "The story begin" then "page two" then Twicecoaster lane 1 ect;

the original plan for twice since debut was never really cute, they were supposed to be edgy, cheeky and sexy (as seen in OOH AHH) in twices youtube red series "seize the light", JYP (the creative director of their entertainment company) says Ooh Ahh didnt chart well, so they decided, considering the member's ages, that cute might be a better direction and he was right, their first comeback "CHEER UP" is their biggest song to date, and is regarded as THE girl group track of the third gen. From 2016-2019, bubblegum pop became their signature sound. They focused on catchy pop melodies that would eventually take the nation by storm and boost them to the global status they have now. "FANCY" was their first 'not-so-cute' comeback. It was released in 2019, the year their youngest, Tzuyu, became an adult. Lemme tell u this song shook the WORLD, and from then on, twice have never really returned to that cute concept, but for the most part, their music still has that bright twice charm. JYP has stated that TWICE will NEVER fully take on a girl crush or badass concept, because in conversation with TWICE themselves, they believe a bright sound is part of who they are and their charm as a group. Which is 100% true. Since FANCY, theyve started branching out into different genres and really finding their sound as growing women. Fancy - Electro Pop Feel Special - Miami House More&More - Tropical House I Cant Stop Me - 80s Synth Pop Cry for me - Contemporary RnB, Breakbeat Alcohol Free - Hip hop Bossa Nova The Feels - 70s Disco Scientist - 80s swing Pop Talk that Talk - 80s dance Pop Moonlight Sunrise - Miami bass Set Me Free - 80s synth Pop With a LOT of different genres in between including club-house, 2000s dark-pop, reggaeton, trap etc. etc. Even though a lot of their new fans dont really appreciate their earlier cute tracks, i believe its the only thing that launched them into the success they have now, and the freedom they have to explore other types of music.

@@justpat2316 Alright, this list is to highlight their main strength---versatility and diversity of concepts and sound. LATATA - got to, it's their debut. Notice the low budget feel of he set and janky fits (sorry, i love the group but gotta call 'em how i see 'em). But what drew me in initially was one member's voice, pretty rare in kpop and the biggest plot twist when you compare her voice to how she looks. LION - epic shit. Probably the first time they got a decent budget. Uh Oh - excuse me??!? Hwaa - WHAT. Is this kpop? Oh My God - wait...WHAT??? Dumdi Dumdi - so after all that, they also had THIS in 'em the whole time??? These are all songs from when they were 6 members. Long, sad, shitty story...look it up if you wanna. But actually their 2 biggest hits came after they became a 5 member group. That would be Tomboy and Nxde...but I would start with the 5 songs i listed above, first. GIDLE is my favorite because they are self-produced, self-written, come up with their own concepts, and come from kind of a shitty, incompetent company. They aren't the "prettiest," the "best dancers," or the best vocalists. Other than the leader/rapper, none of them are an obvious, stereotypical standout talents when compared to individuals of other groups. I have a hard time imagining any of the members debuting with another group under another company. They don't seem like much on paper, but somehow, when you put them together, they create some of the most incredible, interesting, kickass music. They're just incredibly unique when it comes to kpop girl groups. They're a scrappy band of misfits that clawed their way toward every bit of success that they've had up til now. Somehow, they put it together and made it work and now they're one of the, i'd argue, leaders of the 4th gen. They're hella funny and also unique in the sense that they seem to be much freer to be themselves than other groups. Might be because they're so independent and they've earned that status from a company that didn't really have any good ideas or any direction for them. Anyway, sorry for the essay. Enjoy!

You should react to Fromis_9 they probably the most VISUAL group in kpop! My fav groups are (G)I-dle, Pixy, Fifty Fifty, Alice, Twice.....but i must admit that Fromis_9 visuals are insane! And No...they have cute bubbly songs too...but since debut they were add little spicy and girl crush...just a little...."Set me free" "i cant stop me" are full mature songs from them(main tracks). Btw some random kpop fans just generalizing kpop groups: 1. Girl crush 2. Cute But that isn't real, kpop has more concepts: 1. Dark girl crush(Pixy, Dreamcatcher, Purple kiss, Pink Fantasy) 2. EDM girl crush(almost extinct: 3YE, Lapillus, Craxy, Black Pink, Everglow) 3. (G)i-dle concept;) - they have own (are)genre! 4. Sexy crush - extinct with EXID, Secret, After school...... 5. Mature concept: Twice, Red Velvet, Laboum, Mamamoo, VIVIZ, A-pink, SNSD, Loona 6. Cute bubbly pop - gone with most groups of 3rd gen....only few groups use elements: ILY:1, CSR 7. Cute Dreamy - Twice(in past) Gfriend, April, A-pink(in past), DIA(in past), WJSN(in past), Loona, IVE 8. Cute sexy - Most groups of 4th gen using it just a little.... 9. MIX(messy) - Itzy, Nmixx, aespa 10. Teen crush - the most popular with new 4th gen group. Generally most groups now don't stick too hard with one concept...
