I feel so bad for her... she's extremely introverted but she doesn't have much time or actually none at all where she can be alone to recharge her energy. Just imagine working a very extroverted job and when you go home to rest, you can't really fully rest and fully recharge because she is still surrounded by many people. That's why on her rest days, she's always laying around because she literally has no energy left to go out and be sociable on her personal time. Even her shopping trips are very calculated, she's literally saving limited energy by being efficient either by choice or subconsciously out of self-preservation. Her social batteries are depleted and she's constantly sleep and energy deprived. No wonder she has to back down from the tour. I can tell she's finally hit her breaking point after YEARS and years of being constantly on the go, always being surrounded by people with no full rest and recharge. I know from experience how hard it is when you finally break down and you just can't go on anymore. It's extremely hard, mentally, emotionally and physically exhausting!! It often leads to weaker immune system which makes you get sick more often, weaker physically so you're more prone to ailments, aches and pains, accidents and injuries and of course, when in pain from hurt and exhaustion of no rest and recharge - more prone to anxiety and depression. I hope Mina gets the much needed rest she deserves. Since dealing with mental health issues are still taboo in South Korea, I hope she and all the other introverted idols can learn about MBTI so they can learn more about their introvert selves and different ways to cope with dealing with and maintaining their energy in a very extroverted industry. #GetWellSoonMina Edit: Introverts unite! She really is !!! I remember her parents once said : " If the shy and introvert Mina, the Mina who doesn't want to study abroad wants to go to Korea, we'll support you." It took her really big courage to become an idol like this .Even now She's still really scared of doing something new . As an introvert, I knew she was also one immediately when I saw her in interviews, variety shows, and even her performances. She's very shy, very quiet, and sometimes she seems to hold back when performing because she doesn't want to be too loud. Sometimes it seems like she's uncomfortable during her verses like she can't wait to be out of the center haha. I was a performer when I was younger and I was the exact same way. She's so talented and cute and sweet. I love her.

I have severe anxiety, not only an introvert, i just get panicked everytime people stare at me, whenever i had to talk to people im not close to, or just simply being in a crowd. I never talked to people around me abt it bcs they would never understand, they'll only say "omg just open up don't keep inside" its not that easy for me. I like to tell my story to strangers like you guys bcs i feel like there must be someone who understand and so that i don't need to reveal my identity.

It's so sad looking back on these interviews when you realize just how long the stress of her job probably took a toll on her. My partner is incredibly sociable but also very much introverted. She's learned great coping mechanisms and sees a therapist for her anxiety. One of the biggest lessons she said she's learned overtime is finding time to 'recharge' so that she doesn't overextend herself. Introverts need that time to really rest mentally and get their focus back, especially when they work in situations where they must interact with people for extended periods of time. Given that perfection plays a huge role in K-pop on top of the fact that Twice is without a doubt one of the most sought after female K-pop groups in the industry, she probably found less and less time to give herself a proper recharge, what with Korean comebacks almost immediately being followed by Japanese comebacks. I can't help but wonder if the realization of what the world tour would be hit her and just finally made her snap. In moments like these, we can at least be thankful that JYP has always been incredibly caring and focused on the mental well-being of his employees. He's been so respectful about her situation and given such diplomatic responses to keep her personal life private- this only further gives her the time and space she requires to figure out just what she needs to rest and heal. I think the biggest thing I worry about for her is putting undue pressure on herself in that so many people are constantly asking "Well when do you think she'll be back?" That's got to be so hard for someone going through something like this, it can make them feel like if they don't just "fix" what is wrong quickly, they will have failed again. Thankfully, so many fans seem patient and kind about her situation. I wish her well, no matter what path she takes next in life.

For her, maybe is so hard to keep an idol life and need some space for herself. I understand Mina, for us (the introverts) can be so exhausted keep contact with so many people or go to places. It's actually really hard being an introvert.. Like when they ask you to talk cause you're being really quite so you agreed and decided to join in the conversation but only ended up embarrassing yourself cause you don't know how to communicate. .and later on you keep on overthinking about it when your by yourself. Introverts overthink a lot cause its when your alone that you can realize and think about life. So when I do something embarrassing I tend to remember about it everyday and would try to see what others see through their eyes. Like "do they find me annoying?" "don't they want to be friends with me cause Im boring" This is why 60% introverts experience anxiety.

the rest of twice members should just understand that she's introverted, seeing jeongyeon and jihyo talking to mina like that made me think that they were disappointed with her like they think she doesn't enjoy being with them and it's not like that, i'm also introverted and even though i do have fun being with my friends i still refer being alone in my room

I don't want to be that kind of person but it seems like some of the members are not very understanding with her personality? It almost comes off that they're being rude at times when confronting why she doesn't want to go out. It could just be me but with my introverted personality, it really bothers me when people tell me to go out more often. Now, that's just me...I don't want some people to get the wrong impression that I'm hating but I just feel sorry for her.

Introverts are usually deep thinkers and like to assess things inwardly and emotionally more so than the opposite spectrum. Mina strikes me as very graceful, and elegant. As an older female fan, she caught my eye immediately (with dorky cute Momo as her foil hehe). I admire that kind of reserve!

It took me three days to get out of my house after a VERY extroverted week. I dont know how she does it (being a kpop idol)

She stays in her room to re-charge not because she hates interacting. As an introvert myself, I have to spend time alone with myself in order for me to consume energy and socialize otherwise I’d get really tired and build anxiety. As for Mina, she’s an idol, she’s in front of the camera most of the time, everything she does is monitored, people are watching every move of an idol and the thing is, she’s still around other people at home 24/7, making it difficult for her to regain her energy back which can create anxiety overtime. I’m glad she’s taking some time off because her job can take a toll on her mental health if she kept going. I’ve never been a celebrity before and probably never will be, but I just can’t imagine the overwhelming feeling she has to deal everyday. With those consecutive schedules and tour TWICE has, I’m pretty sure Mina hasn’t been able to regain her energy back since...I don’t know, YoY era? Nevertheless, JYP management took this long to actually pull her off the stage because they know Mina’s mental issue is severe, but it’s still good that they did. Also, her coming back to Korea with her mom, I don’t know if she’s able to make it but there are rumors that she might leave TWICE, came back to korea to fix some paper work with JYP and go back to Japan to live with her parents. OR Mina’s coming back but fans aren’t happy to hear that because they still think that she’s not completely okay. Korean people aren’t happy about her either because they think she chose the celebrity life so she has to suck it up. (Smh, I swear K-netz are a bunch of demon breeds 🙄)

It’s why mina is out on rest for awhile. She doesn’t like crowds. She doesn’t like the outdoors. She lays in her room all day is exactly what people with depression do and also people who have anxiety. People who get nervous or scared when they are outside or around large crowds of people. She has always had it. But now it has gotten worse for whatever reason. And no one seemed to notice that she needed help. At least talking to a psychiatrist to try and figure out why it was happening. But she didn’t get the help that she needed and she eventually exploded. Poor Mina. I pray for u too get well and don’t rush it. Take your time and get better. We would rather have you healthy then to be hurting. Love u Mina. Love u twice.

Aigoo I hope the members try to understand from her perspective and not pressure her too much, but yeah, they should try to compromise and they’re probably sad that she closes up on them, stays behind too many times, or flat out says no all the time. They’re probably thinking that they want her to be a team player, but I just hope they can all compromise, where Mina can also learn to not be too stubborn about it, if she is always rejecting their offers. In the interviews, it sounded like she has a way with saying things, like timing, which she is right about. But during other times, it also sounded like she was starting to feel self-loathing from the pressure. I think she has self-respect for herself in a way, despite how the others describe laying around as not being a normal or healthy thing. It’s hard, they work a lot so of course a rest day should be for resting.

Sometimes introverts become very popular and have to deal with large groups of people and that wears them down physically and mentally. A true introvert needs to "recharge" by being alone and *many* people don't understand that need. Mina, get rest and get well!

It is different watching this now after her official anxiety disorder diagnosis, but luckily she now has more resting time and JYPE is making sure she won't force herself to go on stage when she can't. I do hope the treatment will be able to help her, because it does seem that she loves being an idol and it makes her happy, but of course for someone with anxiety this will be a lot harder. Being introvert is the best thing because you don't have to worry about anyone or anything, just keep distant yourself from everyone and for me it's an escape form embarrassment because when someone watches me doing something I get nervous and mess everything. So I never go to a crowded places.
