David Johnson served 3.5 years in the Marine Corps. He first arrived in Da Nang in early 1967. In May, he was severely wounded and evacuated. Recovery took about six months. He returned to South Vietnam in late 1968 and participated in Operation Meade River. Soon, he was wounded again and evacuated for the second time. He spent more time in hospitals recovering from wounds than he spent in South Vietnam. He shares memories of his service. Among other topics, he remembers the unreliable M-16 and shares memories of c-rations. Posted as part of the "War & Life: Discussions with Veterans" project. warandlifediscussions.weebly....
