Hi, I’m Link B, and I do just so happen to be really bored right now so here we go ☆ A) Yes I was there for midnight release and I’m still addicted. BotW is probably the most meaningful game of all time for me (how original I know) and so TotK coming out was a pretty big deal. I think it fixes a good number of BotW’s flaws while introducing some of its own unique flaws compared to the first game, but overall I’ve been extremely positive on it so far. We’ll see how I feel after I’ve given it time to sit for awhile, but right now I love it. I’m surprised by how much the reused over-world doesn’t bother me, although sky has been really disappointing so far. B) Honestly I don’t mind it. The traditional Zelda dungeon format is one that I love, but I feel like it wouldn’t work translated 1:1 into TotK’s gameplay style. It’s worth noting though that I’ve mostly been screwing off and getting distracted by every vaguely interesting thing I come into contact with so I’ve only completed the Gerudo Temple so far (after like, 50 hours), but I’m just glad I don’t have to deal with menus to solve the puzzles and that we’ve got unique bosses and aesthetics. I also found it to be harder than the divine beasts, although that may be exclusive to that one dungeon, and I also might just be stupid. It’s far from perfect, but it’s a vast improvement over the divine beasts in my eyes, which I felt like was BotW’s weakest aspect (besides the story). C) I have not beaten Wind Temple yet so I am gonna skip on reading that, sorry. Thanks for the spoiler header though I really appreciate that D) Again I’m biased towards these games, I really enjoyed BotW’s minimalist soundtrack. There weren’t as many bangers by any stretch but there wasn’t really meant to be. I think the silence and minimalism helped to sell the “wild” if you will. And the town themes are still set as my alarms sometimes. I enjoy the tracks for different reasons from the other Zelda games, but I understand people who say they didn’t really like it. I do still feel like Wind Waker carries my favorite OST in the series, but also I was an impressionable 7 year old when I played it so I’m definitely biased there as well. E) Oh boy. Context: I played the game for the first time on the Switch with the definitive edition, and exclusively in co-op. 90% of my time with it was in Adventure mode (the other 10% being menus lol). I loved Young Link having an install into Fierce Deity, I thought it was so cool. He was absolutely my favorite to play, and my consistent goto, but he was hard on maps where there weren’t enough random fodder enemies to keep my meter up so I did have backups. Linkle felt kinda broken so I had a pocket Linkle. I’d also occasionally play Toon Link (light sword) or Tingle when I was bored of Linkle or Young Link, and base Link (master sword) when I needed good single target damage, and occasionally Lana (spell book)
