As a native of the Pacific Northwest, I think this theme perfectly captures the feeling of walking through a Douglas fir wilderness, simply enjoying nature. Such a beautiful piece!!

Today is not the first day this music brings tears to my eyes. Rest in peace Angelo Badalamenti

If you watch this on streaming, it's basically illegal to skip the intro. Perfectly sets the mood for every episode, even if the intro doesn't change too much through the whole run.

I believe these are the greatest opening credits of all time for many reasons, but I think the main reason is because of its glorious simplicity. It's just a bird looking up, a shot of a mill smoke stack, a sawblade, a waterfall, and then a river, and that's all, but you set it to Angelo Badalamenti's absolutely stunning music and you create something that is, to me, almost a religious experience when you watch it. When I watch the series, even when I watch like ten episodes in a row, I never skip the opening credits; to me, that would be a crime, and no matter how many times I see them, I feel something deep inside me that moves me in a way I can't explain.

Without Angelo, Twin Peaks would have been a body without a heart. What an essential gift he bestowed. RIP.

Diane, I'm finding myself rewatching the title sequence from Twin Peaks for no reason while eating the best cranberry pie west of the Rockies

There is no question; this is the greatest and most influential program to every be on television. It utterly changed the medium and there are no series that after Twin Peaks aired that does not owe a modicum of inspiration to this tremendous series.

The most beautiful dreamy intro ever made. Everytime I put on an episode of Twin Peaks and hear that first note I just feel a relief, it's like my entire soul just takes a deep breath and all anxiety inside me just disappears and floats away.
