weird- i think on the recording the parts the bassist is playing was recorded on a synth- this is a cool way of making the track replicable live.

Who does it? Or what is he doing? A hammer on, I believe, he strikes the note with his index finger a little hard with his left hand so it sounds and he can play the synthesizer with his right hand.
