This video is about Peony Jelly From Start To Finish
Recipe: One bowl full of peony flowers, soak then bring to boil let’s steep overnight strain, for recipe is 8 cups of Peony tea with 8 cups of sugar, 2 tablespoons of lemon or lime juice in the video I used to lime juice, bring to boil then add 8 tablespoons of powdered pectin, boil for 10 minutes skim off any excess film then pour into jars.

Well, one learns something new every day. I've grown peonies all my life and have never heard of using them for jelly. I can't wait for spring to make this. Thanks!!

I came here because my friend just gave me a jar of peony jelly that she made. The color is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen and the taste is exquisite. Sweet, tart, unique....you can indeed taste the plant but in a really delicious way. It tastes flowery but in a fantastic way. I could eat it all the time if I had enough of it. I'm going to be sad when it runs out.

I used light pink and white peonies, but my tea is more of a yellow colored tea...

Nothing like rosewater the flavor is indescribable it basically taste like what a peony smells like, it’s one of my favorite recipes ever.

I want to make this and wondered how to harvest the petals. I'm glad I found your video. Truly start to finish. Question... what type of sugar did you use?

Just pick the flowers right off the plant and grab the stem of the flower and twist it so you have the petals. I just use regular sugar.

I just wait until it cool like probably the next day or so. I put one in the refrigerator so cool right away.

Can I store the tea and make the jelly at a later date?

I suppose you could keep it in the fridge for a few days or you could probably freeze it for another date.

Can you use all peony colors? I only have dark red ones.

Absolutely they are all edible and if you have the dark ones you’ll probably get a good pigment.
