In this video, I'll share my experience making the same game in both Bitsy and Twine. Each tool has pros and cons: Bitsy is better at visual storytelling; Twine is better at narrative-driven games and can handle more complicated programming.

I appreciated your videos! Back when I was a kid in 06 I used to make historical "novels" in complicated PowerPoints, so it's been nice to see how everything has evolved to become better for the developers and end-users of these very niche genre games

hi this is an incredibly helpful video! im extremely new to all of this but i have a question: is there a way to make portions of a game in both programs, then somehow combine then?? what i envision is a game that alternates between narrative exposition that follows a branching choice structure & interactive scenes within that structure that a player can navigate & interact with. so i wonder if its possible make the narrative part of a game using twine then have interactive portions made in bitsy & somehow intertwine them into one package.

One thing that came to mind is devoting an entire section its own page, though that would mean new webpages would open constantly. Unless you learn extensive Javascript or HTML to somehow corporate two different engines into harmony... at that point, you must move to a different engine that can do both, where I segue to try Godot. Never tried it myself but I've heard good things about it.

@@GayBrain i made a comment in reply but i thin it got auto-modded... but i found a way to embed a bitsy into a twine scene using bitsy hacks if you google "bitsy twine integration" there should be a blog post from a site called "spdrcstl" that lists a few different methods to accomplish this
