I used to follow a bucking bull breeders forum, and this time of year so many of them would have pictures of multiple calves curled up on big dog beds in front of fireplaces in their living rooms. They were so cute and cozy.

That wind was so strong that it blew that peacock 🦚 over poor guy. Glad the calves were discovered in time to warm them up. When they are so little they look so fragile. ❤️

All four adults did a great job. I was impressed when Erin picked up the calf from the ATV and took it into the warmer. She is quite strong and caring. With everyone’s quick thinking, you guys saved two babies from freezing! Thanks for sharing this video.

You are living my dream of a ranch in the USA, ever since my grandad told me of his uncle who worked his passage on a coal boat to do exactly that. We only know he raised Suffolk horses too on his ranch and won a prize for them. Do you ship your meat to the UK,? We buy online from a butcher in Scotland after my hubby tried their Haggis but would love to try your meat too. Keep safe, there are some pretty nasty storms brewing it seems in your country. All of you seem such lovely people. You have such a love and tenderness for your animals it is lovely to see. I really do thank you for your videos, I am pretty poorly with kidney failure and a lot of other flaming things wrong too. I am often awake with pain in the night, and your videos bring the world into my bedroom. I am quite a newbie so it's great to catch up on older videos too. Keep safe from a cold, wet and windy England Kay x

Mike, as a guy who grew up on a beef and dairy farm, I can see a real difference in how you interact w/ your cattle now versus a couple of years ago. You are much more comfortable around them now. The cows can sense you're less afraid of them, so they are more at ease also. Great job w/ the twins!!!!

Beautiful Animals Ol’ Number 14 is a healthy girl with twins! She seemed like she was well behaved and I’m sure appreciated your help! A life I lived as a younger man helping my Uncle who had several hundred head of cattle in Bon Aqua, TN…….I know how hard you guys work during calving! Number 14 is a great Momma! Always good to see the Moms doing good!

Wished we'd had those hot boxes when we was calving at -63 degrees F! Could have saved a few more of those sweet little darlings! Man O man is that wind nuts! Almost blew me across the Walmart parking lot! Needed a few rocks in my pockets today for sure!

Mike I'm so proud of #14 how it just moved toward and inside the barn stall. Calf #3 was smart it hide behind the barn by the fence protected.

Oh, my thank God! When I saw that baby girl have her head up in the heater, I got tears in my eyes. I wanted to do the happy dance seeing those babies' calf's doing so awesome! Mike you should Name her Rosie for being so strong. Also, it's awesome seeing Mr. Jeff back! Air hugs from California!

This is a wonderful success story where Mike's quick thinking saved two calves. We also bought a calf warmer last year and saved three calves, it paid for itself in one year. Wondering why Mike would not make colostrum using a powdered mix with warm water. Mom's milk is always better but we've saved many calves by giving them a bottle of instant colostrum milk when they haven't nursed for whatever reason. Keep up the good work! Nice to see Jeff again.

I change my operation a few years ago from cow-calf to finishing our own just as you are doing. This will be the first years we aren't calving in April. What a relief! We are going to calve out in May and June, smaller calves in October, but we don't care anymore. Hope you have a great calving season, I know you will be tired by the end!

I remember when I was a kid on our ranch and I would have a friend stay the weekend and they would just love it because from the city and they would always say this is easy work. I always said you can’t imagine how hard it really is to care for all these cattle until you really do it and some wood come for a week or two in summer and they truly got to realize this is really hard work. Another words mike I know hard you work to keep the ranch going. It’s dam hard work brother. Keep it up your one of the best people around.

Simply amazing how a cow can go from pretty much frozen to death to a lover and back with mom, that heating device is amazing. Sure had my body tensed that the little girl wouldn't make it, technology has sure come way. Thanks again for sharing your farming life with us on the 30 days 30 blogs.

Hello from Canada 🇨🇦 just thought I'd advise you to build a split gate for your maternity pen. It's awesome for milking. That way the cow is still stuck. but the bottom is free and open for you to sit by.

Nice save on the heifer calf twin! Happy to see both calves survive. It always seems that when the weather is crappiest that’s when the cows calve! When we get twins I call them double trouble🤣🤣! Lincoln’s cow (#184) has a cute little guy too! Welcome back Jeff, great to see you again!

I have 2 suggestions for you Mike: 1. Udderly ez ....(a manual hand milker) will make getting that colostrum ez 2. A Whiskey Toddy (for your cold and chest symptoms) Half shot of whiskey Tablespoon of honey Tablespoon of lemon juice Mix well and slightly warm the ingredients Bottoms up... Repeat as often as you like😁 Hope you feel better soon!!! Welcome back Jeff!! Y'all stay safe!!!

Good evening Mike & Erin. I've seen you go through worse incidents on the ranch, but this took place at a pace that was watchable. All those babies at once, one that was not real stable, one that just needed a jump start and one where everything was normal. Real life and death drama. Glad to see Jeff back. Good job Mike, I think you got them twins into the MediHeat just in time, at least for the heifer. Looks like mom cow is a real good mother to them, congrats. It's good to see you and Erin working together and having success with those little ones, it's also good to see Jeff back, hopefully you can use the time to get feeling better. We've been dealing with the spring colds ourselves, which makes it harder on the others to get the job done. Awesome video, thanks for sharing have a good one, see you tomorrow.

Interesting to see the calf warmer in action! On our operation, we keep a couple of bags of Colostrum Replacer on hand. We have to keep it in the refrigerator to keep the mice out of it. We always give twins at least 1/2 dose of replacer to make sure that they get off to a good start,

You take such loving care with these babies.. I once saw a video of a huge farm and the workers , were abusive to the calves ..it was terrible. My grandpa loved his cows , went out in the pickup to check on them every day. I was little i got to ride along if i was at there house . He raised white faced herfords . He only kept 30 cows, he raised breeder cows . Not for beef I was taught that animals were God's creatures .. To feed your animals and your babies before you feed yourself .. I'm addicted to watching these videos . I got to ride along..

Calf raising came such a long ways. Thank you for this educational video. They are beautiful. We had a Brown Swiff and she had twin heifers xmas day 1999 and the Holstein calf twin bulls new years day.2000. Out of a white face Herdford cross bull. That bull was a keeper. But life changed that fall of 2000 and everyone had to go Thought I would share. Thank you glad Jeff is back and the calves are doing well.
