For those who don’t know the reference of “in your reflection” in the musical Jekyll and Hyde, Jekyll is tormented by Hyde only seeing him as “a face in the mirror” aka a reflection
@waffleauflauf42132 жыл бұрын
Yes! I loved that Starkid referenced it- it's one of my favourite books/musicals
@PrinceTrexus2 жыл бұрын
Besides that it's also kind of reminiscent of the scene in Spider-Man when Norman Osborn speaks to his Green Goblin persona in the mirror

It could be a really clever reference to Mulan. “When will my reflection show who I am inside?” Turns out Aladdin’s reflection shows the murdering psychopath he is inside.

I usually don't like these twists, but they actually made this work really well, mainly because it didn't excuse or overexplain the flaws in his character, but added another layer and wrapped his story up.

Being completely honest, this is the only show or piece of media that has been able to make me laugh, bop, be fully captivated with the story and scenes and mainly, the first thing that is able to fucking scare me in a way I didn't even know was possible. I've just either been the icky kinda scared or simply creeped out by something, but this actually gave me a legitimate fear reaction whilst not making me jump out of my skin, having my soul escape my body and make me think about life for the next four days whilst still being paranoid by every little thing. Not underplaying this at all, though- this is probably the most fucking shit your pants thing that doesn't rely solely on irrational fear. Bravo, Starkid and Jeff. Bravo for whatever the fuck was going on here.

Your description reminds me of the first time I've watched Stalker, though it didn't really last more than a day thankfully.

That first soul crushing fear for me was with the Jekyll and Hyde musical. Hyde is a terrifying man. I clearly remember fearing for my life as I watched him (I won't give any spoilers in case you didn't watch it). It really left an impact on me for a while.
