If there’s one Twisted Metal game that I recommend if you wanna get into the rest is Twisted Metal Black, which from what I’ve heard, is considered one of the best, if not the best in the series by the community. Plus it’s made by the original devs behind TM1&2 under a different name (yes, even David “I don’t understand Metroid Dread’s level design, which is why is bad” Jaffe, who actually created the series to begin with) I haven’t played much of it since the controls were a bit hard to get used to, plus the speed is bit intense (tho from what I’ve heard, the controls in that game was compared to how tournament fighter, especially since the creator considered the series as a car fighter rather than a racing game, it kinda makes sense), but from what I remember, it was quite fun.

Man... These two games are as close to perfection as it can get for me. Top five for sure.

We need an HD remake of one and two I would pay $50 for a combo game online multiplayer

One entry I regret not playing when I had the chance was Twisted Metal Head On as I had a PSP at one point and my PS2 doesn’t work anymore. Come on Sony, Port the damn game

I was in high school got a PlayStation and twisted metal for my birthday. Game changing gaming. Love these games and so far love the show

I can't say I care much for Twisted Metal 1 & 2. Aside from primitive AI that's always up your backside, the play control has the tendency to eat your inputs; I would press a button or try to perform a special move, and nothing happens. Unresponsive gameplay is a big pet peeve of mine, so I can't get into them. I have dabbled at Twisted Metal 3 & 4, and what I will say is they're better car combat games but not better "Twisted Metal" games. The more responsive play control and improved enemy AI makes them more enjoyable and less repetitive, but the downgraded storytelling makes them lose a lot of the appealing gritty chemistry that the previous instalments nailed. I recommend playing "Rogue Trip: Vacation 2012". It's made by the same team that did Twisted Metal 1 & 2, and it's the same game but with greatly improved play control, more intelligent enemy AI, and some innovative additions that make for a more dynamic and varied experience. Give it a shot, it's fantastic.

Just because the Saturn flopped doesn't mean it wasn't good. There are tons of great games on it.

Why so hard on the Sega Saturn? Im sure if you include the Japanese-only library. There's lots to love about it. I lobe the Turbografx-16 even though it was only big in Japan. 1:15

TW1 felt like a beta for 2. 3 & 4 were trash & Black was a step in the right direction.
