Thank you for the excellent interview. I had the special experience of being on the crew of this, coming in with replacement DP Jack Green. I'm pleased to see Jan's involvement with the UHD release, and to see his excitement to share his perspective some 29 years since we were in the fields of Iowa, in OKC, and in Simi Valley for the spring 1996 additional shooting. This was challenging in every way to make. Jan was also a challenging director, but that challenge was forging. I witnessed his tenacity everyday, and I took that memory with me the rest of my career, making me better at my job. Thank you for that, Jan. Despite the difficulty of the shoot, Bill and Helen were true bright spots. Helen was sweet. Bill was, well, wonderful everyman Bill. He and I had met briefly on another show, became friends, and I was honored to work with him on two projects after Twister, spend some time at his Ojai home, and touch base a few times a year. Miss him. Looking forward to seeing Twister on the 4K big screen and hearing the new Atmos mix. Congrats, Jan. Off to see the new one today with family and friends. EDIT: LOVED TWISTERS!!!

I know he’s probably way past the desire to make another masterpiece, but people don’t understand - this man was the DP of friggin Die Hard. Twister was right on the heels of Speed. He speaks the language of visceral action/cinema and I just miss that era. Everything truly peaked in the 90’s.

Thank you Jan De Bont for making this MUCH BETTER Super High Definition version. 4 stars. Deeper colors, clearer picture and superb sound. The sequel comes out in theatres next Friday.

Great director, all his films are immersive and worthy of most demo material. His Twister will be a hard one to beat for best Home video release in the Atmos department for many years to come. Great video thanks and thank you Mr De Bont as I remember the critics weren’t kind to many of your films and proved wrong with the fans of many of your films.

Why do they keep ruining movies with bizarre color grading and AI upscaling?

They didn't, this was a new scan. No upscaling needed.

@@abefroman. I'm talking about 4K's in general. This film got the color grading gone awry. The Lord of the Rings films and James Cameron's catalog got the AI upscale. It all looks terrible.

@@kdkseven Disagree again. Jan du Bont supervised the color grading on this Twister remaster, and the changes were ones he wanted to do back in the day but didn't have the proper tech until this remaster. The green scene may be revisionist, but the rest of the grading looks amazing.

@abefroman. As I mentioned with Peter Jackson and James Cameron (and George Lucas as well) directors can f' up their own movies.

@@kdkseven It's personal preference. I don't like film grain so for me LOTR looked awesome and I think True Lies went a bit overboard but it's still way better than any other format to watch it on. Haven't seen T2 yet but I'm thinking I'll probably like it more than most "film purist".
