Twister Pinball Machine by SEGA

One of Sega's poorer efforts, the magnetic spinning disc that holds (up to) 5 balls and throws them all over the playfield is cool and the fan on the top box that blows when the twister is coming is good. I like the shot during multiball that you can "chase" your jackpot doubling and trebling it as well as the fact that it fires the ball straight back to the flipper in front of the sling to make it less predictable apart from that its a bit of a yawn fest, the fact it keeps shouting "everybody under ground now" at you every 5 seconds doesn't help!!!

00:28 I like the fact it has a random diecast auto carrier truck by Maisto in there. I guess it was supposed to replicate the tanker truck scene from the movie.

There is one at Crabtowne in Glen Burnie,MD. They have a Arcade connected to the restaurant.

I once played this pinball in a cinema in Puerto Rico. I remember that *Maisto* auto carrier also I had two when I was a kid.

Had a Twister machine at the local Chucky Cheeze growing up. Only pinball I've ever been able to reliably earn extra games on. I think it's because this field doesn't drain easily.

Never had a WW but I think you are probably right, Twister is quite limiting with multiball after multiball!

They should of made the spinning disc rotate in a circle around the table on a track...like a real twister would move...that would of been badass...

I rather enjoyed it´s simplicity at times. Art was very good. The quality of Sega, not so much. For more complex games, I had Dr. Who, Creature and Corvette lined up ;) Dr. Who is still my fav, despite poor artwork. I grew up with the TV series. Quite cheap too.

Sega was sort of the ugly sister of pinball manufacturers, they tended to make pins that were a bit...lackluster That's not to say they were horrible, Batman Forever was a decent player, and Twister here isn't too shabby either. Yeah, the dialog is a bit repetitive, but then there are a ton of games that have that, but I found this pin fun to play. Not the hardest thing in the world, but it has a smooth flow, and the spinner stringing balls together and whirling them around before releasing them was neat (y'know, like a tornado). Worth plunking down a couple quarters, if only for the novelty.

I like the Sega stuff, but obviously some are better than others. I own a Sega Baywatch and it's fantastic to play - one of my all time favorites. The main issue I have with Twister is shown during multiball - there are so many things placed low on the playfield that you can get muddled with 5 balls on your flippers and you can't get them away cleanly to the top of the playfield. I love the movie, love the soundtrack, and I would still love to have this in my home one day!

tattyadams Wait, I live in Las Vegas and I go to Pinball Hall of Fame, and I don't see Back to the Future and Twister pinball machines in there, but I only saw Jurassic Park and Last Action Hero made by Data East.

Uhhh... I'm in the US and I've played this in an arcade and have seen quite a few for sale (wish I had the 2 grand to drop on one!!!!).. Preeettyy sure you can find the BTTF one in the US too. Both of these were extremely popular so they're beyond rare.
