Today we answer a viewer question about how to rip or break apart balloons with your hands. I've gotten this question from a lot of you guys so I hope this explanation helps you! Good luck and don't give up if you don't get it on the first try!

Have been wanting to do this for the longest time instead of looking for scissors. Or a cutter amongst alot of things and this trick is so useful, the thumb dig did the trick. Thank you so much for sharing

Holy cow this is soooo much easier than how I always was told. I have been told 'tear it like duct tape' which I could never get to work and after getting tired of popping I just started using scissors and having to re-inflate the scrap. This saves so much time and effort. Thanks!

awesome! Just did it worked first time! And very controlled! usually if i try to break them i don't get a clean break and shred the tail so it's no use! Thanks Holly, best wishes to you and your wee family :)

I followed your video when you first posted, and still had to pull the balloon a few times for it to break. Feeling determined, I came back today and really listened closely and watched what you were doing...and by golly....I can now EASILY break my balloons...everytime. Thank you, thank you, thank you for such a fantastic and useful video!!

It took me so long to figure out how to break balloons, but it was definitely worth learning! Twisting balloons is so much quicker now.

Holly, I have done birthday parties and corporal events and the balloons break on me. those who have hire me and the children are always wondering why. What do I do and tell them? I always use Qualatex balloons.

for those who have these balloon problems .. by happen chance, I ran out of Qualatex and could not find any, so I went to Party City and they only had a generic "twist and shape" balloons 144 count of 260s and they, for me, are thicker and much better and do not pop, are not so fragile and was able to accomplish designs that before, were impossible. hmmmm
