At first. I also struggled to see where Chung's unique vision was in the film. Then, I started seeing how "polite" this film was. Minari director who grew up in Arkansas knew the setting of the film well. He depicted the Southern people and their culture with affection and made a film whose storyline was wholesome and good, nothing offensive to any Southern moviegoers. In addition, being the good Christian, he emphasizes unselfishness and dedication to saving lives throughout the film. These are all traditional and old values, but in today's day and age, seeing these on the forefront of a major blockbuster film's storyline is so refreshing. I thought Chung did solid work with a good amount of his personality quite visibly sprinkled.

I've just seen Twisters on IMAX and is a blast and spectacular! I was surprised by how thrilling it was! It was as good as Twister from 1996! I just missed the flying cow from the first movie!😅 I recommend to see Twisters at cinema for convincing special effects! I give it a 7 from 10.

I think nobody had the expectation to be an Oscar contender… I personally liked this one better than the first one. The first movie is too repetitive in my opinion, all the tornado chasing are for the exact same purpose. This one has more character development, and explores more reasons to chase a tornado despite getting information about it. And the performances were better too…. I gave 6/10 to the first one and 7/10 to this one.

Watching a movie with high expectations for whatever reason is always a no no. I knew from the start this movie would be an “average blockbuster entertainment” and that’s fine lol🤷🏻♂️
@chazharrisАй бұрын
That's weird because the original film has very clear escalations and builds to Jo's re-match with an F5 tornado at the end, which Dusty's speech at Meg's house sets up. I didn't feel like the new one had that.
@julianbracey7070Ай бұрын
@@chazharristhis new one is sounding very inferior. I just hope I like it a little bit. Sad that there is no type of moment where they're INSIDE the tornado holding on to a belt! That moment still gets me to this day!

@@julianbracey7070 The music is a big part of why that first film works and has suspense. It's just ignored which would have redeemed the film a little for me. I mean, if I had access to the IP I would be bringing Mancina back for more of this: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jspyoLeFxqnDe30.html

I haven’t seen it yet but I get the vibe that they’re only reviewing it and interested in it because Isaac Chung also directed Minari, even though this is clearly a summer action movie and not an indie Oscar darling. Just doesn’t feel like they’re meeting the film on its own terms
@alechats5184Ай бұрын
dont think so, i just watched the film and i totally get what theyre saying. its a perfectly decent film but theres really nothing interesting in terms of the filmmaking or the action or even the characters or the romance -
@alechats5184Ай бұрын
theyve even liked some other fun blockbusters in the past: barbie, top gun, john wick, etc. this reminds me sort of what happend with that movie Air (2023), where the filmmaking was just mid, and the script too, but people just thought it was fun because you just didnt have to think too much about it, and it sort of was, but i kind of feel the same with this one, it also was really cliché

You guys aren't wrong about flat modern cinematography. To be fair it isn't too far off what Top Gun looks like, but that had a warmer palette. no one wants to play with color and contrast anymore and it drains the energy and visual interest out of everything.

Spoiler warning. I must say. It's a hit and miss with me. It didn't give me the original vibe. The action was good but also made no real scientific sense. Even when the heavy Ram 2500 planted itself in the ground, it made no sense that it didn't get picked up inside the twister while buildings were being ripped apart. The casts acting was great but the script and some action scenes just fell short to me. Better than half the movies that came out this past year but just doesn't live up to the original for me.

The Golden Age has started as confirmed by Dr Pillai in one of his Live Guru Purnima sessions. He just consecrated in his fire ritual centre The Seven Saptarishis statues They are actually our forefathers. They are represented as seven bright stars in the Big Dipper constellation. Their light when brought down to the Earth Plane is auspicious especially in this Golden Age.

Totally agree with your reviews on this. Although, I thought Mark Mancina's score in the original with electric guitars and choral voices was a God-tier score up there with Jurassic Park, and that paired with the growling of the tornadoes in the original gave it suspense and dread and awe. De Bont knew he was making a monster movie - essentially JAWS with tornadoes. It felt inconceivable to be a filmmaker who gets access to a film franchise with that Mark Mancina music as part of the IP and then to just ignore it. Madness.

Flowers catch the dignity messages from the spaces and they directly transmit to you as a participant of the video For the food offerings, raise your hands to take the food. This is Praasad. This is to mentally enact as if you are taking the food so that you are enriched spiritually. Use your right hand always For completeness sake sometimes they take the water in a pot that has been prayed and sprinkle it towards you with a sprig. You are to catch it and drop on your head. I had a feeling this movie was going to be rough from the very first scene when one tornado expert says to the other tornado experts "no, overpasses are the worst in a tornado", seemingly only for the benefit of the audience. It is funny that Kiernan Shipka has two films out right now that she's in for only one scene. I'd been defending this as a fitting choice for Lee Isaac Chung's jump to blockbuster filmmaking given the similar setting and imagery to Minari, but I was very disappointed. The romance? Daisy Edgar Jones and Glen Powell's characters don't even kiss once. The score was indeed really strong though.
