Really great lesson! Watching you do that it looks like it's the easiest thing ever. Somehow I think there's some level of experience that I lack that is going to make it SLIGHTLY more difficult to match your results.

I honestly just clicked this video to kill some time-Super glad I did! I’ve been doing twist with a certain amount of success, but you laid out some incredibly succinct tips that make sense of some things I’ve been trying to puzzle out! Simple things like this often go under-explained. Thank you!

Awesome video very informative. If you were doing a twist on something that was shorter than the width of the jaws of your vise like say a section of a railroad spike would you still put a spacer in the jaws if you had it clamped horizontally?

Yes, if the vise jaws would not stay parallel when clamping a railroad spike, I would use a vise spacer.
