some are a lil confused so here's an explanation of what happened: This is a 100% speedrun requiring all weapons to get mastered. The energy shield mastered requires you do 20k damage with the energy shield, but it can be essentially cheesed by pulling it out during a BFG blast (the big fuckin gun). Two shots of the BFG on icon of sin gives you the energy shield mastery completely. You can see that I pull it out twice and both BFG shots hit, but there is a hidden mechanic that was never realized before this where for the damage to count as energy shield damage, the damage blast needs to be in vision of you. I move up on the jump pad too early and that results in the damage from the BFG not counting towards the mastery. From then on, I had thought the mastery was completely done until I received the txt-to-speech notification saying shield, which results in me both shitting my pants and having to master it the old way, losing time but saving the run in the progress. As someone who doesn't know the strats but does vaguely know the category and definitely knows the game (100% is actually my preferred category to watch, Ultra-Nightmare or otherwise), it took me a second to figure out what was wrong, but once the text-to-speech 'SHIELD' came in I think it probably clicked pretty much the same time it did for you. XD Seriously, good job chat for noticing that and calling it out. Really would've sucked to have killed the Icon of Sin and THEN realized the mastery was missing.
