F-Zero is not a good selling franchise. Since SNES they keep selling less and less every generation. I think this F-Zero 99 is a way of testing people interest in F-Zero. So, if you really want some impact on Nintendo, just play it.

I feel like why everybody’s so upset is because these types of games are usually gone forever because they do poorly. They want their new F-Zero game to last on store shelves, not be canceled when it doesn’t do well and (inevitably) gets shut down.

This was actually more fun than I thought it was gonna be. Hopefully it does well enough for it to warrant a brand new F-Zero.

At first there wasn't excited because I remembered I suck at FZero but after playing this new online game, it's a lot of fun

They might be gauging interest. Guaranteed they're tracking how much it is played. If it can sustain enough players, that would be a good indicator of whether a true franchise revival would sell well enough to be worth the trouble.

When I look at this game, my mind wanders over to Federation Force, that one spinoff everyone hated in part because of how dead the Metroid series was at that point, only for it to be an appetizer before Samus Returns revitalized the series.

f-zero 99 is pretty cool and I think a new F-Zero Game could be on the way because of this

F-Zero 99 may have not been the game we wanted, but with all due respect, F-Zero would heavily benefit from a battle royale style of play especially with online. I've been playing it for a while and it's fucking awesome, can't wait for the next courses to come

Such pathetic responses- this is EASILY one of the best games of the year! And a year with Tears of the Kingdom and Pikmin 3, no less! If this is honestly their responses, then they have no right to call themselves F-Zero fans- these sound like people who WANT this game to perform badly and kill off the series permanently, when this is the biggest chance F-Zero has had in almost 20 years. This game RULES, and it might even be my actual favourite F-Zero game already, from someone who's played the series for years!

I’m kind of bored of these kind of over the top, nonsensical reactions. F Zero, as good as it has always been, sells like crap and yet they act as if Nintendo should put resources into creating a brand new full game in a series no one has seen for 20 years or rerelease a game a small minority of people bought when it first came out (I was one of them btw). It’s completely irrational and illogical to expect this. What they’ve done is smart. Gauge interest by putting out a game that uses pre existing assets but in a new way and offer it as part of the online service so it’s open for anyone to try out. If Nintendo see a lot of interest they’ll probably be convinced that it’s worth putting the effort into making a full on new game in the series like you’re whining for and if it doesn’t generate enough interest then they won’t have wasted much time and money and F Zero will disappear again. So instead of complaining like pathetic brats maybe just play it.
