The idea of being able to play my PC games anywhere is really cool since my computer is starting to show it's age. If I can put my emulators on it too, I'll definitely pick it up! Otherwise, it's still looking like good idea to me. I just hope it doesn't get pulled too soon.

So much misinfo shown in these comments: 1. It's an entire Linux computer. It can do things outside of Steam, and can be... a regular computer. You can even plug in key and mouse. 2. It's not competing with the Switch. It's competing with other portable gaming computers, yes I said portable gaming computers, not laptops. Most gaming laptops aren't competing with this. 3. The PS5 is still interesting tbh

Steam Deck can play Steam Games. A few games like Super Pilot can be played. PC apps like emulators can run. Look at that, finally being able to play F-Zero games (outside SNES) and other *actually* F-Zero-esque games on handheld. Nintendo still doesn't have that yet. I'll go ahead and throw this in the W column for Steam. Only thing is, the button layout I'm not sure about. I heard USB-C is compatible, so wired controllers being allowed on it would really help. Slightly more expensive than Switch, but from what I see here, it looks way more justified than what Switch has been doing in the 4 years it's been out.

Too be fair, the button placements on the switch are for two player stuff. Seeing the steamdeck have buttons almost falling off the thing makes me wonder if cramps will be as bad.

Bro I can care less how it looks if I can play games on it at 60fps with a 120hz display I'll get used to the buttons. Switch is outclassed here, for gods sake the e shop LAGS whenever I open it, the joycons will randomly snap off if I put my index fingers on top of the switch. All of my joycons have drift, and their idea of a new model is to make the screen bigger, and slap on some Ethernet plug which I already found a method of using an Ethernet cord. Nintendo has become a joke, and Valve has probably been working on this for a VERY long time. Good bye Nintendo Switch, All Hail Steam Deck.
