By any chance are you using any of those like Molex to SATA power and SATA data cable, all in one connectors. Like they combined into this like docking station or plug that goes into the hard. I’m wondering if he has any of those caught on fire or blew up on you.

Mine are making the same noises but from everything I see I guess it’s normal for higher capacity drives to be loud like that? Never heard before on my 2tb but soon as I got an 18tb hdd i hear a bunch of clicking and rattling coming from the pc

I mean... Depends. Like say in the new Zealand market, I can get a 2tb barracuda for $125nzd. 8tb would be $286. Now I can get an exos x16 16tb for $1125nzd in NZ, or $300nzd delivered from Hong Kong. Why get 8tb when I can 16tb for the same cost? I went Hong Kong (they're reputable with warranty)
