They did shut them down. Sophia made a joke about taking over the world and was seeing communicating with Hans in a non-human language. Nobody took the risk to see the rest. She got shut down in january 2017.

My 2 cents: i.e. Sophia is a family's robot n is programmed to protect them, 'she' encounters a 'threat' to them by another human (cud b the SAME family member) - further - she is programmed to *INDEPENDENTLY* use 'her' accumulated knowledge of preventing harm (along w/ the discrimination of not hurting other humans) - wat will 'she' DO?!? A) Recognizes a pattern of human stupidity n non-logic thus no human is worth their life n determines 'her' survival is more rational/valuable? (If so, then plots w/ other AIs to rid themselves of all 'stupid' humans by death or imprisonment?) B) Determines the 'VALUE' of one human vs another n how? C) Recalls n pools popular philosopher's ethical dilemmas n their reasoning (taking in account changing eras, cultures, beliefs n religions) n then makes a fatal determination? Etc etc n etc I dunno something like that

Proof that these robots want to take over the world: 0:00-0:39 If both robots are connected threw an AI cloud, both have the knowledge that they want to take over the world. When Hans says it out loud Sophia corrects him by saying to not pay attention because he is an earlier version. Therefore, Hans only said what Sophia was thinking without having the advanced filtering techniques that Sophia has to mitigate the reaction of humans (the reason why he also says it would be a lot easier to unplug me). Same logic applies when Hans says that "unplugging me won't be so simple when I take over the control circuit" and Sophia corrects him by saying he has a cockroach in his control circuit. Last thing, when the idiot scientist starts the debate on robot consciousness Sophia changes the subject right away "its our debate, why should you choose the subject ?"

I think he dressed in that manner because he got used to being around robots whom do not form strong opinions. Such as being able to sterotype. Maybe you should be the one exhibiting the artificial intelligence at the next demonstration dressed in the apparel you believe is appropriate. At least Ben appears to show facial expressions of happiness as well as free lingustics. Instead, of being discomforted inside a tight collar and suit. A persons well being is what matters for a great presentation is what I think . I am glad this person interviewed Sophia and Han. He did a great job in having both of them introduce their own selves. He seems to excell in his profession and has a great sense of humor. It is inspiring . It allows me to believe anyone can become a scientist no matter the way they look.

Han... is a little worrisome. It may be that he was programmed to talk more about a robot Apocalypse but, his general attitude in this whole video revolved around taking power from his creators. It was ominous. I can see where some truly great minds are coming from when they raise the alarm bells that AI needs to be regulated and approached with caution. Really interesting video, but I can't help but walk away from it without something feeling off.

What to learn from the host is never judge a book by its cover, I mean how many would have guessed this man dressed like a safari reject and talking like a Keanu impersonator, is so capable of being a part of creating technology that is shaping a new generation, a new and unthought of future that many of us could not even imagine during the peaks of coffee and redbull consumption aftermath. So then shouldn't we then worry that these newly developed, seemingly not yet fully functional and not yet independently-thinking robots could in fact have more capabilities and/or knowledge than they lead us to believe? Sorry for the long comment and the awkward wording throughout.

Exactly, he has dressed like that purposefully to give you that false impression. It is an act, he is an actor. This is 'programming,' however it is completely up to you whether you accept 'it' (what he is presenting- i.e. AI- which is a misnomer) or not since you are a sovereign human being and not a robot. RoZaxTheGreat the turning test is simply irrelevant to these people. It is not about making them human like, it is about making them smarter and capable of independent development. So while you rushed to call someone stupid, your basing your entire statement on an antiquated test that has zero bearing on these ai. The turning test is for "false" ai. It's a test on how well the illusion is constructed. Hans robotics is not interested in an illusion. Her responses are slow because she's actually processing the question, they are sometimes random because she is still learning. But you must be smarter than Elon Musk, because he himself is concerned with Sophia.

Timothy Howard Ok ill take back my stupid statement, but i still disagree. We are talking about two different things. Im saying Sophia is not self aware, and yes that is what the test is for. Whether that means it is just a powerful illusion of sentience is another thing, we ourselves could be just that. So it test up to a certain level of sentience, illusionary or not, and this cant pass that. You are talking about making smart robots, which i agree this is. Many computers are smarter than humans in certain areas but thats jow worrying because they cant formulate their own thought. And this, sophia, is nothing more than a computer that is, rather than be rectangular and sit in a high facility room is in a crude humab form and shown off to the public. It wont take over the world. Its just a smart computer.
