I have to say that I like Shoresy better than Letterkenny because Shoresy was actually showing a character’s growing and had a linear sense whereas Letterkenny, while awesome, was just vignettes and had a very loose sense of time.

Jared Keeso is to Canadian TV comedy like The Tragically Hip is to Canadian music. I am by no means a hockey fan and yet Keeso can bring out Canadian culture through the storytelling of a struggling north Ontario hockey franchise. What is even more important is that the show is able to put a comedic spin towards the various Canadian cultures without so much as a hint of political division or insult. THAT IS TRUE WRITING TALENT. Screw LA and Hollywood - let's make sure talent like Keeso stays in Canada and give him (and whoever else is helping him write the scripts for shows like Letterkenney and Shoresy) more budget money to produce this type of content.

What I can't get over is how accurate this is for interactions between players and referees, especially at higher levels of hockey. Now the chirps are over the line for the most part, no one would go as far a shorsey, but I've definitely got into my fair share of verbal exchanges as a ref. As we say you chirp us, we'll chirp you back.

Sometimes less is more. I’m hoping that we get at least a couple more seasons, but I appreciate stories that choose quality over quantity. It also makes it way easier for me to binge at least 20 times but, as someone who doesn’t typically binge or rewatch, it’s the quality that makes me do that, too.

I love how i played beer league for 8 years at one point and because of that i understand every hockey joke and nuance of this show. The best part is the very end when hes dead serious about finding out if his team is folding or not. Like all the previous chirps were just chirps but serious-mode is when he ignores the chirping to ask if the folding thing is real. The show is genius.
