Hello! I like your videos. Little by little I repeat your lessons, especially those that are relevant to me at the moment. Today we made a notebook with our two-year-old daughter using this video lesson as a guide! (She was putting glue on the paper😊) Здравствуйте! Мне нравятся ваши видео. It’s the wrapper flyleaf and cloth guard that force the difficulty level.

I place second bare needle from the inside out then use that as a guide for the threaded needle outside in- align the thread needle point next to the bare needle shaft, insert it 1mm then pull the bare needle and follow the hole- neat and tidy every time

Thanks for both the interesting video and the laughs. Sometimes things just don’t go as planned, but it’s nice to be able to edit it out. I find these structures interesting and am going to have to give them a try, just to see if I can do them.

Really useful - and thanks for the link to cool heritage article. I now have the perfect protective covering for my father-in-law's single section pamphlet from the first exhibition at the Rijksmuseum in 1945 at the end of the war as he followed the British army up the map (he was in the catering corps)! Thanks Darryn as ever for your inspiration. Sue 😊 PS I just received the DB magazine last week and I recognised your arms from the photographs in the articles on the Queensland conference!!!

Great to hear from you Sue. I think I was supposed to write that article. I forgot about it. I wonder who did it. I guess my copy is still in the mail. Cool sounding little pamphlet. I also like the single section Bradel one I did a video on. I like the square spine for titling.

I was hoping this would be a good tutorial series for me, a beginner bookbinder. I would need a somewhat longer view of the diagrams than the few seconds you allow and the fast-forward segments zip through the details too quickly for me to figure out what you’re doing.I don’t mind longer videos if I get something out of them…. But, your videos are obviously geared toward bookbinders with a lot more experience than me.

I have videos aimed at absolute beginners too. Check out the paper covered pamphlets. The channel guide is the place to find different projects. Link in the description. Also in the description is a link to the article, so you can look at the diagram as long as you like. When I flash things like that it is so you can either hit pause or I nearly always have a link in the description. Happy binding!

@@DASBookbinding thanks! I did watch those… as well as the ones on rebinding a paperback and saving the original cover - this is mainly what I’m interested in. Your channel is a master class in bookbinding and I think I will enjoy it immensely!

Hey Das, I am trying the three section pamphlet, just plan paper for now. My question is can it be cased using the single section square back bradle binding? In the video you use a pamphlet type, i forget the name. I have a short story, only 48pages, I wanna bind and make the best job of it.

Absolutely. I think it's a better solution. But I don't think Silverman does. So it's a personal call. I like being able to title the spine.

Hmm. I think I followed for the two-section pamphlet, but I would be hard pressed to reproduce the three section pamphlet. If I develop a need for this structure I'll probably have to consult the article and then watch the video a bunch more times.
