I was the guy that said, "Is that your raptor over there?". We could have made it a quick and easy recovery, but the owner rudely told us to no. It was very strange to be honest... almost acted like he was too good to talk to us! I have a raptor of my own and have taken it all over the dunes. Funniest part was his tire pressure was at street level! Lol. Glad you guys were able to help!!!

There are two types of Raptor owners. Those who have it as a status vehicle and know nothing of off-roading(usually rude rich ass hats), and those who bought the truck and understand what it is capable of and how to use it correctly. I have a '19 and use it. I would never turn away anyone willing to help or give me advice on how to unfuck myself.

@@Striker50_ A stock raptor is not a trophy truck. Just because it can run Baja doesn't mean it's on the same level as a frame up trophy truck. Thinking you bought a trophy truck is what causes so many of these Raptors to have bent frames.

@@joshkiej6601 Be cautious when running a car and using the heat to stay warm, while stranded. The fact that your vehicle is not moving could contribute to CO poisoning, and lead to brain damage or death. It's rare, but not uncommon, that while idling, the vehicle's heating system can pull exhaust into the system and displace it back into the interior of the vehicle. You'll drift off peacefully and that will be that.

@@Flying_Dollar_Motorsports No, a proper air down is 6-10 pounds, off-road. You can never drive on a freeway with tires that low, they would overheat and fall apart. Such wise advice. Here in outback Australia your vehicle is your lifesaver. It can be see much easier than a person lying in the sand, dying of thirst. We have some additional rules. zRed smoke flares, VHF/HF radio, 20ltr jerrycan of water and 3 days emergency rations. Out here the only cellphone reception is in town and that might be 300km away.

I live, work, and play in the UAE. We play and camp in the desert. The rules to stay alive in the desert are always carry enough water for at least 3 days more than you intend to stay for each person and/or dog in the vehicle. Never go into the desert with less than 3 vehicles. A second vehicle can easily get stuck helping the first one that is stuck or broken. Also, if you do go into the desert by yourself, you are foolish but if you do, never leave your vehicle if stuck. More importantly, remember that EVERYONE gets stuck one time or another. No one is immune regardless of your vehicle or how well you think you drive. One more thing; if you want to go into the desert, you take a Land Rover, if you want to come back out, you take a Landcruiser.😉

I live in Arizona. Came here in 1951 at age five. If you get lost in this type of climate, STAY WITH YOUR VEHICLE! If you leave populated areas, take plenty of water with you. My parents kept a two gallon canvas bag on the front o the car at all times when we left out home to go somewhere. I once asked my mother for a drink. She said suck a pebble. You know what, this is 1 of my favorite channels here. AND, some think it harsh but staying with your car is more likely to save your life than walking away. In open area its odd colored and odd shaped and makes it easier for spotting , and may be your only shade. In extreme life and death situations could be burned for smoke signal ... Thanks for sharing ...

That load of guys wrestling with that jeep reminded me of a class trip I was on back in high school. There was a neon stuck in a ditch up in the Adirondacks where we were going camping for a week at a pretty scary angle nearly rolling over. There were 8 of us strapping younglings in the van and we stopped to help them out. 4 of us went down into the ditch and lifted/pushed from the side and 4 more on the back pushing from behind and we got it out no sweat and nobody run over. We were talking to the family after we got them out and they said they were actually scared, then surprised as they thought we might have been a gang of bad people happening upon an easy target of opportunity! I can probably imagine the feeling... this was back in 2002 and cell phones were not a common thing yet and definitely did not have coverage way out in the mountains so picturing myself sitting there with my spouse and kid in that situation wondering what to do and suddenly a huge van rolls up and 8 young burly guys jump out and group up outside your car to talk to you out of the blue probably would freak me out too. I wish we did had a camera with us because that was pretty wild. They didn't even get out of the car while waiting for someone with a way to call for help to come by out of fear of rolling the car over. None of us back then even really considered or cared that we might have had a car roll over and flatten us, we just jumped out and lifted and pushed them out. Glad it was a tiny car and we were the power-fit class!

If you’re raised right when someone is in trouble that’s your number one priority and you do whatever you have to do even if it involves putting your self at risk I was raised to give the shirt off your back and if someone needs help you help them but sadly most people aren’t raised that way these days and are only interested in doing something if it benefits them

Rookie moves for sure. Definitely airing down helps even the most novice drivers. I’m sure if he was at around 20-25 PSI (definitely not 10 😂) he would of been floating out there if he had the torsen front end differential. I have a 2017 Raptor and *knock on wood* I’ve driven at least 2000 miles thru sand, pismo, glamis, Johnson valley, Nevada and Utah to name a few and never once stuck lol. I’ll admit when I first bought it I had no experience driving in that terrain other than air pressure and max traxx. None the less. Nice recovery
