Making signs on the XCarve that are much larger than the machine is a huge challenge. Tiling is the key. Everything must be just right. There is no room for error. I show you how in this video.

Awesome work you do. I purchased the 1000 mm X-Carve about a year and a half ago to aide my son's business. He specializes in aluminum welding and fabrication. I haven't done a lot of projects yet, but not larger ones than my machine is capable of without the tiling. This helps a lot. Of course I'm a slow learner, so I'll be watching this video several more times for sure. I have a lot of larger projects I want to do. Thank you.

Appreciate the level of detail here, especially the machine setup settings. I'm not doing carves like this yet ... Doing kumiko, Asa no ha projects, but this is still very useful to see the process and machine setups. Actually, I'm not seeing any other sources that are this good. Just putting that out there. Just excellent. I would be interested to see projects that have a range of depths, for example, like some Native American animal carvings that have different depths. Not sure how that would be accomplished, but an area of interest.

@PawPawsWorkShop

Use the tips that I show in these fanart videos. The American flag will be easy because the union can be in one section and all the other sections just consist of long lines to form the stripes. Run is along the y axis for the stripes.

Can you please make a video on cutting something on the machine that is larger than the work area?(for example cutting a sign and then flipping at 180° and then finishing the cut.) I tried an easel but every time I flip the sign and go back to the original zero spot, it always is a little shifted. I’m not sure if that is easel or if it’s my error. Could you please try it
@PawPawsWorkShop

This is a tiling operation. You do not flip it 180 degrees. You move it along the Y axis to a new point and continue the carve.

I started this channel to help others avoid the frustration that I experienced in the beginning. Even today I continue to push the envelope and experiment. Yes, there are still many failures. CNC machines are great. Inventables XCarve is a great beginner CNC and is excellent for the hobbiest. My other machine is the CNC4newbie New Carve.
