lll and Houses of the Holy are personal favorites. I like ITTOD a lot, and mainly for the deep tracks like I'm Gonna Crawl and Carouselambra.

Love this video Andy!! I bought CODA as a kid -- it was the only time I ever got to buy a "new" Led Zeppelin album in my life -- I've always liked it and never understood why some of those tracks didn't make it to In Through the Out Door, which -- like you said -- is lackluster. FWIW where I grew up I heard Darlene, Poor Tom and Ozone Baby on the radio all the time

"Presence" is absolutely great. My second favorite, after "Physical Graffiti". I just love the bass & drums on this album. I don't dislike "Coda"; but it is a compilation, not a Led Zeppelin album in the full sense.

Presence is My favorite zep.. A for originality. I listen to in through the out door for John Paul Jones keyboards playing _ it's very distinctive. He's the original stealth talent on everything he does.

My last family holiday in the South of France is really where my love of Zep began-the bar in our modest hotel (no bidet) had a pool table and a jukebox in the lobby where me fatha and I knocked a few balls about while me mam and sister faffed on upstairs getting ready to go out-I had THE OCEAN on nonstop -killer riff-Got some F-olding money next day while at the beach and went off to do me own thing.Found a record store and got Heep's Very 'Eavy on vinyl and Presence on cassette-then got the nerve up to buy 20 Gitanes and lie in the grape vines til dusk ,looking at them both soon zonked out-the nice lady at hotel (Les Routiers) next morning told me my folks had left at 7am -right after croissants-2007 was the best holiday eva man -PRESENCE remains my fav and it still works on me cassette player

Nice commentary Andy, thanks. My preferred album switches regularly usually favour the 3rd, Presence and the 1st. Was lucky enough to see Zeppelin at to old Maple Leaf Gardens when they toured the 4th album. Quite an experience. Thanks for jogging my memory bank!

Fantastic video. I believe Bonzo's Montreux is an Avant Garde piece itself. One of Zepp's gems. Andy this is great stuff. I am doing a documentary on Post Zeppelin 1981-1989 right now if you wanna check it out!

Presence was the first Led Zep album I ever owned and it remains my favourite, and has my no 1 favourite Led Zep song in Achilles Last Stand, I think it gets short shrift because it came after Physical Graffitti that is 1 side too long, was more stripped back and isnt a critics or critical favourite. My second favourite Zep album is Houses of the Holy - although I never bought any of the zep albums when I was young apart from Presence, 4 and Physical Graffitti (which I sold because I needed to raise money probably to buy a Rush or a Rainbow album). I did get the two Remasters box sets so I could eventually programme the albums from the CDs. As you say Coda has some good stuff on it as well and the Remasters set mashed together Bonzos Montreux with Moby Dick. Not a great fan of studio drum solos though and I am also not a great lover of blues rock, and so can take or leave the first couple of albums prefer 2 over 1 - contentious and sacriligious as that is, its my taste - not a big Free or Bad Company fan either.

That’s funny, I actually love the up beat expressed on In Through the Out Door. Along with all the rest. Presence likely my least but still owned by me on vinyl. The black thing is a bong! 🗿

Couldn't agree more on what you said about LZ playing the blues. "Since I've been loving you" is great, but the early blues songs around 69 are pretty boring. I love all LZ, it is one of my favorite bands! But "Presence" is my least favorite - Achilles Last Stand is a great song, very influential for the NWBHM. The Coda deluxe edition is great. One of the few I can really recommend, there is a lot of interesting bonus stuff. The other deluxe album versions usually offer only some early mixes of the album songs or instrumental versions of it.
