I think this is a rare alignment of the stars...Clint and Shirley, story and dialog, with superb filming of sets and locations. Not the agenda flaunting waste of time that afflicts films made today.

Started watching this by accident really .I was dozing on and off . Finally coming fully awake about 10mins in. I could have switched off but was becoming more intrigued by the music and unfolding story .Made a mug of coffee and settled in to watch till the end I was so glad I did .I HIGHLY recommend this film to all the dozers of the world

Great flick! The odd combination of Clint Eastwood and Shirley MacClaine is superb casting. A great couple can carry a film only so far, then the story must carry it forward, as this film does perfectly. The score is a a great addition .

The opening of this movie is one of the best ever. Right up to the point that the horse steps on the spider. By the way Morricone said he did not want to write music for Clint Eastwood movies out of respect for Sergio Leone who for a time was not in good terms with Eastwood. So I'm not sure how this movie ended up with Morricone's music which is absolutely stunning.

Thanks for sharing this great film. I haven't seen it for decades and had forgotten how good it was. One of Eastwood's best I think and Shirley MacLaine is so good it's hard to take your eyes off her. One thing that bothered me a bit was how did Hogan manage to get almost through a whole adventure without noticing Sister Sarah's false eyelashes. 🤭Ho hum . . . I'm so picky. :)

Thanks, I seem to like old Eastwood films! I'm 69, he's 90+! Not sure, but Warren's sis has to be in her 90s at least! Wow, the eyelashes on her....they don't look original! I was in Catholic HS when this came out! Awfully racy, I must say! So many great lines!

A great film . Good to watch it again after all these years . Great actors and Shirley a great actress . Geniuses from black and white , Laurel and Hardy, Keystone cops etc, thro Eastwood and Harrison Ford . This 4 eras of talent will never be repeated . I hope i'm wrong .

Whattha?? Why has this been ignored? Great film great cast. Why has this been hidden away???? Great film. Great cast!! I loved it. A cinematograph operator when film was film, and operators were King. I hate the usb genre. We had the audience trapped in their own memories.. i was used to taken audience away from realitly to their fantasy worlds for the length of the movie. That takes skill. A disc is NOT skill. I loved my job. Oh well.😢
