Kind of building off of what Joseph said about how this feels like a look to the alternate timeline where S/Ts kept getting better as opposed to what we have now which is basically that every deck is, to some extent, monster combo: this really does feel like what the answer is to the direction that Yugioh ought to have taken had post-handtrap card design not set in. This kind of methodical GY and chain management feels like the heart of why people enjoy IshTear format to some extent, but IshTear also had to be able to compete with modern monster combo to warrant examination. Yugioh definitely could have developed much more slowly if more thoughtful design had taken place at various points over the better part of the last decade. I hope that it's a thread that people really pull on further. I can't help but feel that some element of what made the game what it is got missed along the way.

@@OrmylLP yeah for sure but might take me a few days to translate into digital format ~ it's 360 main decks and 120 extra decks. We split into 3 MD packs and 1 ED pack each. Draft the first main, draft the second main and extra simultaneously (take one of each before passing), then the third main

I have played this campaign a couple times and had such an extremely different experience than this. Both times I ended up going for a rank 4 focused strategy with various tribute summons to help further apply pressure. The first time my friend managed to go for a dracossack turbo deck with 3 tempest and just absolutely crushed me and the second he went in a slower rank 4 deck that just completely failed to work and off of those runs I really believe playing more aggro is just significantly better for this campaign.

Me and a buddy did paleo clash and I thought my deck was pretty good until round 2 when he found out he could send dandylion off mathematician and then link climb into both pheonix and unicorn then if he had it discard trick clown and go into the unchained link 4 which basically won him every game.
