Having designed roads in the UK for the last 9 years, that was actually pretty accurate! One thibg you should consider, where you've got the one lane becoming two, the centre line should only be drawn where the width of each lane is full size (your taper shouldn't have a centreline). Great job though, this has made me want to play this game even more!

@@greenche1 pause at 12:45 if you look, the outermost lane of the roundabout exits and the middle lane continues through the roundabout to become the next exit lane. For the innermost lane, there is the option to stay in the innermost lane or to move over to the middle lane, and the line connecting the very inside of the roundabout to the dashed lines between the iinnermost lane and the middle lane is what the OG Engineer is talking about. Most often, you would not have to cross over a dashed line when a single lane splits into 2, and your 'lane' would appear to double in width before a new dashed line appears in the middle. Edit: After seeing what I think was originally being mentioned, when an asymmetrical road splits from 1 lane to 2, typically the only line that would be connected would be the solid center line, and the same concept as above would follow

at 11:00 you decide to delete the rule and afterwards you re-add a rule to show a part of the line, instead you can try to change the "from" or "to" in the rule. You can change those points by selecting the dropdown and then use the points them self on the road. (not sure if the explanation is the best, but I hope you understand) It will take a few moments to get used to this, but eventually it will be much faster than deleting and re-adding the rule (at least that's what I think of it).

If they ever make a Cities: Skylines 2, it'd better have these as base features
@robert2690
@robert2690 3 жыл бұрын
Ben Leingang If that’s the case, it’s still the same game but with new features. So, a copy paste game. It wouldn’t be called Cities: Skylines 2. Assuming they create the next game from scratch with a new engine and Better optimization with added features that we demand to be put in the game as a base feature, it would be called Cities: Skylines Remake. If it’s Cities: Skylines 2, then i hope they need to make it so that the game was meant as a way to manage a city as a mayor. That’s what it should be. I’m no mayor but we know a mayor’s job managing a city of 10,000 people with NEEDS and Wants is never easy to satisfy everyone.

I'd give more credit to the modders. Modders tend to be more creative since they evolve based on what the devs gave them. If there's a plan for C:S 2 with a similiar gameplay, that game will probably also have it's own mods. And people will later ask for C:S 3, and the loop continues...

Instead of "Copy and Paste" on that mod it would be nice to have a "Template" section where you can have a series of ways you like to setup junctions and label them accordingly. You could then just edit it if you needed to change something on a particular junction.

This feels like one of those mods that you need use after you've stuck with a road network rather than as you're building it. imagine spending hours working on a roundabout and couple of T-intersections only to have to delete it later on because you need the space for something else, even with templates that would be frustrating to deal with.

I suggest saving templates for each line (dashed, solid, double solid) since they are probably the same in every road. So that you won't be adjusting or pasting them. Great video btw 😊 I really enjoy watching you.

If you “redraw” the line, it will delete it. The intersection marking tool is my new favorite, I spent hours designing lines in my city.

I love these. Was already using the intersection marking tool, but node controller takes it to a whole new level. I absolutely love how your new junctions work. And you're right, it does take ages to mark all the intersections in a city. I have a bit of experience with that.

You have single 'dotted' lines [to give way] approaching roundabouts not 'stop' lines [unless they are traffic light controlled]. Edit: Should have gone to the red circle [outside lane as traffic can use that coming onto the roundabout] for your 'triangle'. You could use the 'lane markings' [on the roundabout' as the 'give way' lines [now you have the 'triangle'] and get rid of the double stop line altogether as it is too far back 'realistically'.

So funny! I just checked those mods out end of last week. Great stuff! But don't change your streets because you'll have to do all markings again. Quick note: You don't have to delete the rule of a lane in order to to change it. Just click on the "to" or "from" fields and chose another node. Done! As always, awesome video! You really make me come back to this game over and over again! Enjoy your tea and keep up the good work!

OMG. Thank you for those tips on node editing! I thought I can only use node controller for corner smoothness! 10:30 You can rotate the chevron. The chevron will face/point/direct to the first point you press. Also, you do not need to delete the marking if you want to shorten it. You can just edit the To or From points in it.

I was confused about a lot of stuff in the game but watching your videos has given me tons of ideas on how to play and how some of the stuff works. I've tried watching other people but they dont explain stuff very well. Which is important for a game like this that for some people has a steep learning curve. This being my first type of game like this they've helped a lot. Game is easy to get lost in and then you look up and hours have gone by

The intersection marking too already knew about it, but then I just gave up when playing, because it is a pain if you need to rebuild or upgrade or downgrade roads and intersections. But in places where one knows it it will not touch the roads anymore and it is done, it gives amazing results. The node controler is new for me, it is nice too. What I love in the intersection mod, is the ability to create yellow grinds to indicate no stopping there. Thx for sharing Biffa.

nice to see you getting into some detailing, havent used these mods yet so i dont know if this works yet but it might be possible to copy node set up by using the copy n paste feature in move it to a copy small section of road or junction with everything set up and then paste as needed, if it works you could then use move it again to export couple of set ups for difrent types of junctions to go through a city a bit quicker
