To me, these songs as a suite have always been about Kirby's confidence rising. the first act refuses to give you common riffs to memorize and stabilize into, mirroring this horrifying angel and it's conflicting design with the hell you've just been through. but then the sky turns to shadow, and ironically enough, you find your footing. THIS is familiar to Kirby. The god has bled, so it can be defeated, and the music reflects that newfound confidence. And then, in the final act, when your planet itself is at risk, does the song relish that fear? does it dip into minors and half-chords and dissoanance? NO. It pulls out the ultimate theme of your own power, the music that the series has tied to true invincibility. Even in this darkest moment, the battle is already decided. Elfilis has already lost, and all that is left is the victory lap that seals its fate.

Damn, Forgor Land is almost a year old already. Feels like this only came out a couple weeks ago. What a great game.

This actually had me crying, dude. Two Planets Approach the Roche Limit is my favourite final boss theme of all time, and you hit all the right notes with this one.

You really pulled out all the stops for this one. I love how they gave us a full version of the Invincibility Candy after all these years. I love that even now Kirby games continue to grow and evolve in terms of lore and character development. Dedede went through possibly the best character arc and growth in video game history, going from a selfish self-proclaimed King who only thought of himself, to a self-made King willing to throw his life on the line to protect his subjects Kirby. He goes from giving himself the title of King, to earning it through the love and respect of his subjects for doing the right thing because he knows it is right. We see King Dedede grow over the course of the entire series. In Kirby's first outing, Dedede is an antagonist who steals food for himself and seems cruel, but even in the very first game you saw hints there was something to him. Upon his defeat he cries and seems distraught, and Kirby, concerned, seems to want to be his friend. Kirby's Adventure, he tries to do the right thing, wanting to be a hero like Kirby. In Kirby 64, despite not liking Kirby, he's willing to put his pride aside to help them get the Crystal Shards to help save the Universe from Dark Matter. Slowly but surely we see him grow every game. He became a hero by Kirby's Return to Dreamland. Willing to help without wanting anything in return. And then finally we have Forgotten Land, where we get to see Dedede selflessly sacrifice himself to save just a single Waddle Dee. Of course The King doesn't go down that easily, he's fought tougher foes before. And even then he still has flaws, as any character does. He can still be a bit self-centered sometimes, cocky, and lazy, but he can put those aside when the time comes to protect Popstar. Honestly you wouldn't expect from the type of game Kirby appears to be on the surface to have such a deep, well crafted character arc, but the series surprises those who come into it with its lore and maturity.

Much like Fecto Elfilis themself, Jonny's here to hurl hard rock at us out of nowhere Absolutely insane way to scream "Welcome to the New Year!" I adore how you did the "The Battle of Blizzard Bridge"-like section at 2:06, and I knew I was gonna love your take Phase 2 at 4:10! The inclusion of "A Full-Speed Farewell From the New World" at 6:27 was also a very nice surprise! This is such a great start to 2023, banger cover!

AND HERE WE ARE! I knew this song was one of the two most likely choices to start this year (The other being Roar of Dedede). Kirby final boss themes seem to just get better and better every game, and the same goes for your covers! I can’t wait to see what 2023 has in store for us! Edit: The Zelda puppet doing the choir and headbanging to the start of Phase 2 is perfection. Johnny always hits the right notes with his remixes. He does a better job than many other creators of capturing why the original was special in the first place.

So I kind of bounced off Forgotten Land halfway through (not for any particular reason) but I probably wasn't going to go back to it. After hearing this arrangement (and maybe listening to it on repeat like a week) I went back and beat Forgotten Land--and loved it. I even got all those stupid waddle dees and beat Chaos Elfilis. *This arrangement convinced me to finish Forgotten Land*!

My favorite part of this final fight is how they worked the invincibility candy theme in. A subtle hint that you can drive full speed and wreck everything in your path. That got me pumped.

The notification for this came out of nowhere and overrode something else I was going to click on and it was SUCH a pleasant surprise, love this song so much and this is a banging cover.

I am not a bit surprised that this is the most requested song. Kirby music in general is amazing. Kirby boss music? Is just flat out incredible. It's here. It's finally here. It's what we've all been requesting. What we've all been waiting for. And it's even better than any of us could have ever expected. There is no better way you could have started off 2023, even from only listening to it once I can confidently say it's one of your top 3 best covers. Ever. And that's saying something *extremely* impressive. I've been sitting here for 5 minutes now trying to find a good way to end off this comment, but I just can't. Because this is on a level far beyond anything that words can describe.

What better way to have a full-speed farewell to 2022 and kick off 2023 than with two final boss fights involving ultimate lifeforms!

Man what a great way to start off the year. Love the editing in this one, being in the arena was a super cool detail and it looked great. This was a fantastic cover of this track and the inclusion of A Full Speed Farewell from the New World as a 3rd act was a more than welcome surprise. I've gotta say though, that if I had a nickel for every time a Kirby final boss theme was slated as a year finale but was delayed until January 14th (or 13th, or 15th depending on your time zone) of the following year so, in its place was a Sonic cover that was preceeded by a different Kirby song, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
