Panantukan is a fake name that Dan Inosanto made up for FilAm people who trained with him in order to make it sound exotic and cool and also so the word Suntukan would not be mistake for Shotokan which is popular and more popular back then. It is not a bad thing, but it is more a Filipino American martial arts thing. And for foreigners to use for terminology. The Kalistas and Esrikidors in Philippines I know of do not use Panantukan. I forgot what the Panan word is based off of. I have to go research it again. No Filipino uses the word Panantukan in the Philippines and it makes no sense to them. They use Suntukan and that just means fist fighting like normal fighting.
