Schengen weirdness... I was watching a travel video and the content creator was flying on a Singapore Airways flight from Milan and Barcelona (I think it was a relocation flight or Freedom Skies Flight(?)) - as the airplane is registered in Singapore, passengers have to go through immigration control between two Schengen countries. I didn't realise this happened.

You go through immigration, but you dont need a passport, just your ID card from your EU country

@@OffshoreCitizen Thanks Michael for this video, and those links. I can't believe I've been watching you so long we've come full circle. When I got interested in transitioning from US to EU citizen YEARS ago I was watching your stuff on Bulgaria, Cyprus, Romania and even Latvia. But the world changed/and I after years of prep, I ended up putting on the focus on possibly the worst taxed country in the EU (but ideal for other things) for a move later this year. But maybe I'll look back into the Romania/micro biz thing. I knew this coming for the last few months, but I wanted to hear what your thoughts were.

An other great vid. Thanks. As an idea for your next video; you could explain about double taxation treaty’s through an example like let give you mine: Hungarian lives in Germany having US dividend income. How does it work? Where would be a better place to be domiciled?

If you live in Germany more than 183 days you are fully tax obligated and have to pay tax on this dividends, they tax twice, the US tax the dividend and Germany tax the dividend. A double taxation just means if you live in Germany less than 183 days and live the most time in the country of a double taxation treaty with Germany, Germany don`t tax you on certain taxes of that treaty since Germany not just have the 183 days rule but also the domicile rule, if you have a home there they can tax you without residing 183 days there.

Does this mean that time in Bulgaria counts towards the 90 in 180 Schengen allowance? I understand it's only partial Schengen (air and sea) so wonder if that rule applies here.

Make sense to live in Romania and have business established in Estonia from tax perspective? The business is about selling services, not goods. Vat is not an concern.

They are not full Shengen. They are just Shengen by air and sea, not land. You should stipulate that in the video.

@@OffshoreCitizen Yes. I am a permanent residency card holder of Bulgaria, and live in Greece. And this allows me to retain my card because I can always tell the bulgarians I was there....I just have to say I flew from Greece and they have no way of tracking that.
