was this video helpful? what other questions do you have about lighting video? i should have noted in the video but forgot to mention: in order to get that softer moody style lighting at night as seen in the "ain't no sunshine clip" you simply need to crank down the lighting brightness until you achieve the look you're going for. i probably have my light on 60% or something in that video vs 75-100% in this tutorial video.

How long does it usually take you to learn a song by heart/ prepare to perform? I tend to be very impatient, not practice and then get frustrated when I mess up my takes...

I don't think people realize how much thought musicians are putting into content these days. It's not just working on the craft, but also recording, tracking, mixing, lighting, video, editing, marketing that content for different channels . It's wild how much goes into it! Thanks for giving us a sneak peak into your process. It's great!

I think that making a nice looking video is as important as the music itself when it comes to recording a cover video, and is nice to see how you managed to create these cool, smooth shots. Great content Joe!!

This is good! It’ll make me pay more attention to this when I look at videos. I noticed how your body has a shadow on the couch WHILE just above the darkness of your shadow is the light on the couch. Good stuff! Oh, and yes, you definitely be singing in the forrest sometimes! 😂 If a Joe sings in a forrest…OK, I’m done 😂🙈

Love this breakdown! Another setup you should try out is movin that couch forward a bit and having an rgb led shoot upwards from the floor to the wall behind the couch. Could also be a dope silhouette look
