This video shows how to two-strand twist - I made sure to include TWO ways - one way for right-handed folks (like me) as well as left-handed people! I love creating twists - they help with styling as well as deep conditioning, and can be worn as a style all on their own!
As with all styling methods, it's important to practise, practise, practise!

I am pretty sure I have been doing it the wrong way this whole time! I always wondered why the beginning of my twists looked so messy and raised but I can see now I was just doing it wrong. There are so many! Cantu Twist n Loc Gel (but this doesn't mix that well with other products), As I Am Twist Defining Cream, Camille Rose Almond Jai Twisting Butter, there are a lot! Just buy a sample size if you can and try each one out to see what your hair responds well to.

Question, is there a particular direction I should twist the hair in? Whenever I attempt to two strand twist they always unravel after just a couple of days.

There's no particular direction - just whichever way you feel most comfortable with. Are you twisting all the way to the ends of your hair? You also have to make sure that you grip the hair as you're going down the twist, and that you don't move your hands down too fast. As you are twisting there is meant to be some tension in the twist itself, or your twists will become loose.

You can try with your fingertips - or you can wait for your hair to grow! I had to wait for mine to grow before I could start doing twists

Hi there, this may seem like a silly question but are you twisting your hair all the way to the ends? You really need to twist all the way down. If your ends are still not holding then it could be a few things. Your ends may need more moisturiser or product. If your ends are dry then they won't hold. Thirdly, you may need to trim your hair. I hope that helps. 😊
