Great explanation of how the relocate kit works and why it can be run with or without the oil injection. I got your kit last year and it really improved the power and responsiveness on the low to midrange on my 300. I just received the relocate kit to clean up the top end. Just have to wait for our never-ending winter to end. One thing I would like to have you do is to add a simple explanation of how KTM does their TBI and how it deferrers from a relocate kit. Why do they not have to fuel pooling problem. Thanks for a great well thought out product and a good explanation of how it works.

really really like the technical info for the last few minutes, always what I'm looking for is the technical bits. Would love to see a deep dive technical video from you guys on the maps, sensors, and how they all come together at the ECU and how they all impact each other. Also, is there any difference in how the bike runs when doing full pre-mix vs oil injection with your kit? What pre-mix ration do you recommend for hare scramble and hard enduro? I'll be ordering your kit next week right after the holidays. This will be my 3rd kit (best dual sport and also GET prior) I'm trying and I'm hoping your full kit will finally get my bike running perfect. I just hope your ecu mapping will work well with my bike, I had to shave a lot of fuel off my GET ECU tune, about - 10% and also had to advance the ignition timing slightly to get deceleration pops/surges to stop. Keep up the good work, really like the engineering mind set you bring to the table and design of these products.

Interesting break down. I do ECU/TCM unlock & rewrite on car/trucks, so the program & hardware of actual tuning system would be awesome to release if they could. Where Even my previous gen ktms could have the rev limits raised, ignition maps, & octane tables increased for mods like a high comp head and 110 or E85 ...just a thought. When i do have a issue with my TPI im stilk sure to pick up a kit. Not sold on the TBI yet & not ready to spend the $$$ either.

Great explanation. One question regarding premix. If one chooses to use premix is the tune different to the standard tsp? Meaning if one selects the oil pump delete does this mean that with the same tune there is possibility to either run premix (using the delete kit) or oem oil pump not using the delete kit?

Dave, great video and thanks for the detail. With your early injection by the transfer port injector into the crankcase, is your reasoning there to provide better/longer mixing time for fuel and air?

I could be wrong but i always felt that premix is better than oil injection because the oil is already atomized into the fuel as it is injected into the motor. With oil injection it's not atomized, it goes in as a droplet so therefore it has to atomize inside the motor.

Would it be better to then to Pre-mix since you're focusing the fuel into the bottom end like a pre-mix two-stroke would? I know you have to run thinner oils in the TPI setup. How well does the oil atomize when the injectors are in their stock location? Have you done any research and do you know which technique is better for longevity of parts versus performance?

For IRKs that have both injections between the throttle body and reeds, would there be a benefit to move one injector to the cylinder?

Trying to figure out if the relocation kit or standard TSP power kit would suit me best! Trail riding, hare and hounds and wanting to do more obstacles and hard enduro Was looking at the low compression. Not particularly wanting to premix Want more longevity out of my engine too. based in the UK

Hi TSP could a 2023 TBI throttle body and injectors possibly fit the tpi bikes and run them like a standard ktm XC?

Interesting. Also Interesting that ktm are going away from tpi to tbi. And that tm racing have been running tbi in their 2strokes since tpi came out on the xcw ktm. All that being said, I'll stick with a carburetor on my old 2strokes

As a old man I'm a big fan of using a carb it's simple and reliable but after trying a tpi bike it's really really hard to go back to a carb.Stock tpi is average but after a TSP it's so so good.

stock tpi 80:1 with injecter. you can mix 50:1 or 60:1 both allr8

On my 2023 TE 250 I installed the complete TSP power kit, injector relocation kit, and oil pump delete kit. Bike runs fantastic. I started out running premix at 50:1. No running issues but major spooge oozing from the silencer. Called Steve at South Bay Moto. He said they run their bikes with oil injection. So I switched back to oil injection. No more oily goo on silencer. It seemed like 50:1 was too much oiling.

@@billatherholt1825 Thanks Bill for the update. Did Steve recommend running a different ratio? I've just ordered the WHOLE kit, waiting to install and was planning on using premix but not sure now.....

No, he did not. I asked the same question and he said no. TSP suggests 50:1 and he didn’t waver from that. He also hadn’t heard of any spooge complaints either so that’s probably why. On my bike after two hours of single track the spooge had run halfway down the length of the silencer. I knew it would gum up the power valve in no time. But the nice thing is it is very easy to switch back and forth. So, I’m out the cost of the delete kit but no big deal.

If you think about it oil injection varies the oil amounts depending on throttle position and other factors. I ride tight enduro woods trails and hardly ever go above third gear. My throttle is never open wide. So a constant 50:1 ratio may be too much oil for my riding style. Wide open desert racing or Moto would be a completely different story. As soon as I switched back to oil injection the exhaust cleaned right up.

As soon as you move the injectors away from the cylinder, you need a different injector. The standard injector has the wrong spray pattern for TBI. The standard 4 hole injector on the TPI costs $24 on ebay and $260 from KTM. Im changing to a 16 hole injector from a 6.0L commodore LS engine $88
