Greetings from the Yosemite area of California!! My father, Perry Walker Sparks was in the First Infantry. He served in North Africa,Sicily,Italy, and then became permanently disabled on Omaha Beach. He had a very hard time with ‘shell shock’, but he will be my hero forever.. Love Grandma Debbie

Currahee !!! The title caught my eye since I was assigned as a 3rd platoon leader with Charlie Co. back in 1975 at Ft Campbell, KY. It was my first assignment and was fortunate to have served with this renowned unit. The 1/506th has gone through a lot since WW2: redesignations , deactivations, reactivations and relocations. Band of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan are my all time favorites. Thank you Gary for sharing your loving thoughts of Deborah with all of us. Much Aloha

I play the lotto here in California so that, if/when I win, I'll be able to send a plane to pick up people who have never been here and (if they're willing) I'll transport them here and show them around, and they can meet Americans and see some of the spectacular sights. Of course, every country has beautiful places and very friendly and generous people.

Were those Teddy Grahams? They are cookies. They come in different flavors but the honey graham ones are like the graham crackers used to make s'mores. Have you heard of s'mores? They are something really popular here that you usually during camping and they are awesome. Those Teddy Grahams are better if you dip them in frosting. 😊

I would put the document and the wood plague in a shadow box to place on a shelf or hang on the wall. Such beautiful and historical pieces. My heart goes out to Deborah's husband and family.

That plaque with the challenge coin is made from wood siding from the original Camp Toccoa barracks. As far as I know, the only way to purchase one is to buy it from the camp museum.

I keep my daddy's dog tag with me at all times. It is dated 1942. BTW, both of my parents were WWII Marines.

(Sort of off topic: Y'all could make an Amazon wishlist of the spices and such y'all can't get at home and we could all buy something and send it to you if it needs to bypass some seasoned salt restrictions, lol!) You should have a small meat grinder, and y'all could make your own, homemade sausage patties, or, you could strip the casings of the sausages you like and simply dropped them into the meat grinder and have ground sausage. (I make sausages a whole pig at a time, but watching y'all make sausage gravy, I kept thinking it would have been so much easier if you just had a small electric meat grinder.) I've been subject to your channel for two maybe three years now and, it's been so enjoyable! Thanks y'all!) Edit: absolutely yes, I've had Velveeta shells & cheese. As a matter of fact, I had it 3 days ago because it's my husband's second favorite macaroni and cheese on the planet. His favorite is homemade and these days costs about $30 to make... he'll have to make do with boxed.

My parents were married in Taccoa GA in 1945! Daddy fought in Germany with the US Armys 44th Division! What a beautiful piece of history you now have!😊

My son was with Currahee Battalion out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky! He deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan with them. He's has told me about the Brotherhood that develops between the members.

I was stationed in South Korea in 1990 at Camp Greaves in 1st Battalion 506th Infantry Currahee. We would salute Stands Alone Sir and would be saluted back Currahee........ Such fond memories of my fellow American and South Korean soldiers serving along side of each other.......

I love your Paratrooper PT shirt!!! ❤❤❤ I got one for myself a few years ago from Soldier City. Mines is US Paratrooper Ft. Benning Georgia. The 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment after training at Camp Toccoa went through parachute training there. I went through the famous US Army Airborne School at Ft. Benning in 1986. Later I was a Paratrooper from the 1/508th PIR Red Devils. This is one of the new regiments of the 82nd Airborne for Normandy, Holland, and the Battle of the Bulge. Great gift you got. Paratroopers love their T-shirts. 👍👍👍❤❤❤You also got a Paratrooper unit coin which most American Paratroopers have and carry as a challenge coin. Outstanding!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍

On my second cross country road trip in 2019 I went to camp toccoa and walked up Currahee. I don't know how those boys did it. Running up it with full 70 lb gear in the Georgia heat and humidity

I enjoy the Velveta microwave Macaroni and Cheese :) also, I noticed you tossed the lid to the Popcorn flavoring lol you might want to go back and find the piece with the holes in it. You attach it so that you have a bit more control when seasoning 😉

Band of brothers is an amazing series. It's probably one of the best ww 2 movies put out. i will share a story my grandfather told me about ww2. He was taking a colonel to a meeting near the front when he passed his brother who was marching to the front. When my grandfather dropped off the colonel he asked permission to visit his brother and was given it. by the time my grandfather got to the front his brother was killed in action. He is buries in Belgium now. The time that this happened was when the Germans were pushing up during the battle of the bulge. That's the only story my grandfather passed on to me from that time. He has been dead for 26 years now so it's the only one I have to share.

So sweet you two received a wonderful gift box from here, the US. My thoughts on the wood plaque is hang it up where people can see it along with that letter of where that wood plaque came from. I would put that letter that explains the wooden plaque in a frame under the plaque. Watching this video, I can see a spot straight ahead where those two items could go. Now regarding that patch, I would as well put that in a frame or, I know about those patches. My ex-husband is in an MC, Motorcycle Club and of course he had patches on his "cut" (leather or denim vest). I had a leather vest and had patches If you have a black or denim jacket, that would resemble's a leather jacket that you would wear on a motorcycle, have it sewed on. If you do that, sew it either on the lower front or in the back lower area. You can also put that patch in a frame and hang it up or in a frame that stands up on the table. That is just a few suggestions. I wouldn't keep that plaque in the bubble wrap and put it away somewhere, I think that might be a little disrespectful that someone went out of there way to get that item for you, then you it's just wrapped up again. I'm sorry I don't want to be rude, I was letting you know my thought 's. I do think it was beautiful to see how emotional the both of you got with those gifts. ❤

When you make the popcorn do it in a deep pan and just porn enough oil to cover the bottom. Make sure you have a lid

Band Of Brothers was one of the last projects filmed before the Screen Actors Guild instituted GLOBAL RULE ONE - which says SAG members must use a SAG contract no matter where in the world they shoot. SO if ANY of B-O-B was shot in the USA the entire cast would be eligible for residuals and all SAG Overtime work/rest rates (the best in the world).So I'll bet the TOCCOA scenes were all shot in the UK or Europe.
