"Mule tape" can be found at electrical supply houses. It is used to measure conduit lengths and then to pull in wire (phone, electrical, fiber optic...) You will notice there are "foot" marks on the tape. Hope this helps and thanks for twomtips Tuesdays

Mule tape is available in a variety of lengths, tensile strength and material. My earliest exposure was pulling fiberoptic through inner-duct (corrugated tubing) of which is was pre-deployed within by the manufacturer.

Mule tape was originally designed to thread through pipes to count length distance etc. Most AMAZING use, in my opinion, and WHY I bought some is because an outdoorsman posted a KZfaq video on building a tree platform with one man only. It looked so easy and was about seven feet high! Look for it!

I was told the original use of mule tape was to pull fiber optic cable through the underground conduit pipes some were a 1/4 mile long.

Exactly. Pulling wire or cable is the exact use of it.

Good video brother. I love some mule tape. I keep couple hundred feet in the truck and several hanks laying around. I got a buddy who's an electrician. They throw a lot away after big jobs. Good place to check if ya need more

Good points on the gloves. They do help. I carry all kinds of strings and ropes. Even got some yarn i carry cause y not it makes birds nest knots

Mule tape is handy stuff. Great for hammock suspensions, especially using a becket hitch. I think it's pretty low-stretch, because when I use it on my hammock it's never any lower the next day.

True. The amount of stretch is a relative term. Over a long period of time, a 20' piece will be slightly longer depending upon how much it has already been used. It could be 1"-5" and the increase is ever so slight over a short span of time. I will have to research the becket hitch. Thanks as always.

Yeah it's very easy and really handy. The mule tape makes it easy to undo because it's made to be slick for pulling wires and stuff through conduit. Some other types of cordage/webbing aren't as easy to undo once they've been loaded.

Mule tape is used to pull wire through conduit and long pipes. Sold in electrical section. Use RIT dye to change i from white to green, black, brown whatever you want!
