The rifle only weighs 12.5 pounds, so I'm sure that has a little bit to do with it.

I don't have experience with the RRS. If I was more stationary where weight wasn't a premium, I'd going with 2 leg sections. It's just easier to deploy

Great review. Can you tell me what the diameter of the mounting base is where the head screws on is for this tripod?

Is that a 55 or 44mm head?

44mm for weight purposes. It's 10oz less than the 55mm
