Thanks for posting. I wasn't sure what dimensions would be best for doors and there are similar products on amazon that range $40-$250. Your idea is fantastic and I'm building one tomorrow. Thanks for posting. I appreciate it.

Spacers! Mine is 12” W x 16” L with 10” wheels and a 3/4” stainless steel axle. I machined the wheel hubs to 5/8” for the wheels on cushion bearings and snap ring grooves to keep the tires and axle running true. I usually move up to 10 sheets of 3/4” ply at a time. A steel flat bar fixed to the side is easy to balance and guide it through doors. In retrospect I plan to replace the wheels with pneumatic 10” ‘mark-less’ tires so I don’t worry about scuffing the floors or leaving marks. It’s good for about 1100lbs and saves many loading trips and my back surgeon thought your idea was great!

Thanks for your reply to my comment on your other video. By the time I read it the original dolly was made. I will infill the dolly with the pieces you suggest although I don’t carry doors so might leave those pieces out. I can always add them later. Thanks for showing the amendments. Keep up the good work.

It came out good, I am about to make one to carry pallets in a shop, but instead of gluing I'll cut a few pieces of plywood and notch it to fit in the bottom to get narrower or wider. Few snaps in removable pieces.

Nice job of teaching. I am looking at using two of these to move a heavy wood gate (almost 200 lbs) from my driveway to inside my garage for the Maine winter.

This is great! My husband and I are installing a new fence and the panels are too heavy for us. We are going to build one or two of these to help. Thank you!

Nice dolly! I once made something similar, but with one fixed (non-swivel) caster mounted on the bottom. With deep enough sides to the channel, and the gap not overly wide, the weight of the plywood keeps it in the channel just fine, even with such a small wheel. Also, adding a longer carrying handle to one side allows you to carry or roll your panels.

Also, increasing the channel length to 24" allows you to roll drywall sheets, as long as you don't roll over anything too bumpy.

I would just add a 45 degree bevel piece to each side and then you can carry from 0 to wide, single or several sheets and they will self center.
@PawPawsWorkShop
@PawPawsWorkShop 5 жыл бұрын
That's a good idea. You would want to use less than 45 degrees to create a longer slope for the sheets or doors to slide into. Thank you for the suggestion.

3/4+3/4+2=3 1/2 The two inch is the opening. Below that is a 1" opening with 1 1/4" on each side. These are approximate measurements that work for what I move the most. You can make your any way you wish. Thank you
