I’ve had the MX-9 adventure for four years now. Can conrfirm with Staci that glasses fit under just fine for me as well and my mongo head. Lift from the visor also minimal on all of my bikes. Cardo’s JBL speakers are a little thick though and I can feel them just touching my ears a bit on longer rides. YMMV.

I've enjoyed that helmet for the last year or so. I wish I would have known about the cold weather kit 😆 The state just kicked back some tax money, though, and I've upgraded to an Arai xd4

At this point I am strictly into street riding, so this helmet isn’t something I would use. But a very solid, comprehensive review as usual Staci. Nice job.

that pro tint shield is great, after having my race flex helmet, i knew i needed a adv helmet for the panny, looked at this one but ended up with a klim krios pro, and it has a transitions shield also....very nice feature in the helmets. sláinte

@@ridetofood Bell needs to put race flex features and a magnetic chin strap in the mx-9 and add the magnetic strap in their race flex...my personal opinion and we all know what they say about opinions lol. ride safe staci!

I use em on all of my bells and they last for a good while. Just don’t use chemical cleaners on it! I just use water lol

What a refreshing change to see a review that mentions head shape. I have a long oval head, meaning that a lot of helmets won't suit me, so this is an important consideration. Well done Staci.

I have the MIPS system in my cycling helmet. My friend and I were cycling and end up crashing both of us slammed our heads on the road. I hit the back of my head on the concrete and cracked the helmet. We were traveling between 17-20mph. I did get a minor concussion and my friend who didn’t have the helmet with the mips system was a lot more severe. My next motorcycle helmet will have the mips system. Big fan of mips

hi, so is anyone taking about the 1698g the helmet is weighting? i have this helmet now for two years and have to admit it is nice. BUT: it is waay to heavy in my opinion, for just road riding it is ok but if you go to more offroad tracks its just too heavy! what is your opinion on the weight, and i tried to get rid of some stuff, but still heavy cheers

Depends what size your helmet is...an XS and an XL are going to weigh different amounts which is why it's not mentioned. Plus, it doesn't bother me on or off road. Everyone's different. Hope you find one that works for you! :)

not sure what you mean. It's about the same as everything else. The Arai XD-4 is 3.66lb, this one is 3.74lb. Sounds like that extra tenth of a pound has you hurting. Maybe find some dedicated motorcross helmet.

How is wind noise on the highway? I know an ADV helmet won't be as quiet as a road helmet, but how does this stack up against other ADV helmets in your opinion?

Personally, it doesn’t bother me much. I just listen to music and I’m fine. But that’s with my height and windshield set up in mind. Everyone’s going to have a different experiences. With that being said this is the only ADV helmet I’ve worn so I don’t have a fair opinion in regards to comparison. Hope this helps!

With earplugs in, almost any helmet becomes quiet. Wind buffeting is still an issue with some designs.

I see the answer is not straight to the point. The noise is terrible. Overall nice helmet but you need to wear earplugs.

Depends on the visor, your speed, your windshield, your hearing health…. Overall it’s a dual purpose helmet so, naturally, it’s not going to be as quiet as a road-focused helmet like the race star but overall it doesn’t bother me

Strange question. Would you say the helmet is big on your head or slim? I had a Helmet in the right size but it looked HUGE on me.
