Has Langkawi changed? - Exploring Malaysia's Popular Island

It's our second time visiting Malaysia and the island of Langkawi. Will Langkawi be the tropical paradise we remembered from 6 years ago? Or has the island changed? Watch our video to find out our impressions of Langkawi as we explore the island's waterfalls and beaches and run into a few challenges along the way.

You can also take a ferry ride from Langkawi to Koh Lipe (Thailand). It's about an hour ride away. Pristine water and excellent food.

In terms of beach, definitely better. Food choices are more limited and more expensive though.

@@kkkochi the views and marine life is more important. Cannot expect top notch food in an island. Just buffet food.

That oily lump could be from ship oil leaks or from petroleum deposit underneath. It is normal to have that oily lumps at the beach in malaysia as this country is the one of oil and gas producer.

Sorry about the oil in the sea. East coast of peninsula is better example: Perhentian islands, kapas, tioman, rawa, redang, lang tengah

many people go inside the forest at that waterfall because they want to go to blue lagoon... blue lagoon is a river with blue colour water...

Langkawi sea side facing Strait of Malacca the longest strait in the world. Soo everyday very busy with commercial ships and oil tanker ship sailing thro from East Asia to Europe,Middle East and America

Ahh that makes sense. We did notice a giant ship in the ocean not too far from the beach.

Langkawi is good but best if you guys visited the islands off the east coast for the sun sand and sea experience. Like the Perhentian islands, Redang etc Really beautiful there.

We thought about going to Perhentian Islands, but we had such an amazing time in Langkawi on our honeymoon 5 years ago, so we decided to go back. There was not enough time to see the eastern coast but we heard it's absolutely gorgeous!

Langkawi is nice too with plenty of avtivities to do..unlike the east cost.islands..unless u want to just enjoy the beaches n sea avtivities

many tourists has been falling and die at that waterfall... because of that now they built fence at that waterfall...

I think the fence saved the guy’s life. He was holding on to the fence for his life. We were so shocked
