CSUR Mod tutorial • 【Cities:Skylines】CSUR2...
About this Project:

Sorry about the low quality of this one. It probably took 3X the amount of time to release purely because of corrupt files and exporting dramas. Big thanks to CityWokCityWall for helping me get this video out!

"Nowhere in the world has something like that" < I seriously thought this until you shared your footage. Like, every time one of my interchanges need ramps half that tall, I just rebuild the whole interchange. This blew my mind. I'm gonna have some fun making my next map :) It's worth mentioning too that I love your music choice for Sichuan Province! Really achieves that impact you were going for.

At 12:30 approx you have a merge from 2 to 1 lane turning to the right (the loop), surely it would go single lane merge on the straight on the bridge then just single lane from there, so merge prior to the turn. Love ya work mate, awesome EP as always. :)

I think this was meant to split off a one lane ramp here and go to the left hand side, but that part of the intersection was not built yet. Maybe add a construction site for that ramp?

you said to bring up what we want to see built, I really want to see an ancient Buddhist temple or some old style chinese buildings! Also, to my knowledge they don't only have skyscrapers they have some other less dense but equally as beautiful parts of the city with single or double family houses surrounding a shared courtyard.
@paynteck4473
@paynteck4473 4 жыл бұрын
What you want to see is literally a farm, and temples and old style buildings are just stereotypes. Today, temples are scattered, and replaced by huge looming skyscrapers. Plus, most Chinese are atheist, not buddhist. Single and double family homes do exist but in very, VERY rural areas, way further than the 18 km Cities Skylines maps are. Chinese cities are huge, and the CS map cannot cover it all, and the places that are covered are the downtown, and the suburbs, which are both skyscrapers.

Amazing serious, absolutely amazed by it. It would be a really cool if you had a section of your city with old European buildings like in Tianjin. They were called the concessions of Tianjin where European powers like Britain, France, German Empire, Russia, Belgium, Austria- Hungary took hold of land in Tianjin in the late 19th and early 20th century. Each country got land that they built their own style of architecture of their country. I think it would be cool addition to your city.

I've been using CSUR on and off for the past few weeks. One thing I noticed that really helps is to use the Move it tool with a combo of node snapping on and off. I keep it off to plant the nodes for the road modules and then adjust the segments with snapping on. Makes the roads line up perfectly. That and using Klytes road tools to add and subtract nodes as needed to add or take out modules. Sucks that they dont match up to vanilla roads. Hopefully somebody updates the mod so they do look seamless. Gotta either do all roads CSUR or not for the layout to look right. The moment i looked at building roads by lane rather than by road type is when the CSUR mod completely made sense to me. Sometimes I'll build most of my networks one side of a road at a time. TAKES FOREVER though. Worth it in the end

In fast expanding chinese citys like the one Sichuan is based on, there are some areas with very old and run down buildings, narrow roads, stairs and a lot of junk. These areas will be demolished soon to make place for more huge apartment buildings. It's a huge contrast and gap between new and old, shiny and ugly, rich and poor. Would be an interesting episode. 🙂

I think a lot of the time in highrise construction tower cranes are placed in elevator shafts, so maybe consider that if you want to do a big construction site. Alternatively they can be placed beside the building, however I don't think there would be much space for that in a dense city like what you're building. I think ground excavations would be hard given how the terrain slopes close to roads, but you could check out some stuff that other KZfaqrs have done in the past

Roads: Build ring roads, most major Chinese cities have them Most roads have side roads The layout in formerly walled cities have a grid layout like Beijing and Xi'an are grids and other cities have no pattern that has turned into grids in the more new part of the city Districts: Chinese Cities have Districts Most cities have around 20 and everything is a part of a district Districts are made up of many neighbourhoods, they aren't large neighbourhoods Neighbourhoods: Neighbourhoods are areas several blocks in size (roughly the size what a single metro station services) Gated communities: Residential is mostly if not all in gated communities Gated communities vary in size, some are 2-3 buildings, others are the size of an entire neighbourhood Gated communities that are large are typically divided into smaller areas Gated communities typically have a grocery store, restaurants and somewhere to play sports (this only applies to the medium to large-sized communities) The buildings vary in height, but it is typically high rises close to downtown, mid-rises in most places and in some communities, there are single-family homes but it's very uncommon Commercial: Commercial are typically along the streets, not in gated communities There are big department stores everywhere and sell all kinds of things There are also malls that are roughly the same size as a department store but have small shops inside instead of being one large shop In rural areas, there are markets that people set up and sell fruits and vegetables Industry: Most industrial areas are farming and manufacturing Manufacturing is in small pockets Farming is typically outside of the city in the rural districts of the city Offices: Offices are typically in large towers The offices are not a part of gated communities Density: The tallest buildings are in the downtown Some cities still have old buildings in the downtown area The buildings gradually get shorter The downtown of the districts create the same effect as well The rural districts will have like a small town "vibe" similar to many small towns along highways (don't build them in an American style though) Parks and Plazas: The parks all have something unique or something significant The parks are also fairly large, just not as big as Central Park "Park" areas that are fairly small or inside gated communities aren't "official", but they serve the same purpose Plazas are a big deal in China (especially to seniors, Chinese viewers know why) Plazas are typically in front of malls, department stores and monuments Education: Schools are big in China, they're twice as big as schools in other places on earth Post-secondary education campuses are clustered in a small area in some cities Post-secondary campuses are typically small, except for the bigger universities Health Care: The hospitals are big and they're throughout the city Public Transit: There is a large bus network in major cities and stops are frequent There is basically no tram network in China The trains in China are extremely fast and the network covers most cities along corridors and the major cities as well The metro system is very efficient and is widespread in major cities Metro lines are mostly underground, however, most metro systems do have above-ground sections Bike infrastructure: Most roads have a wide bike lane Other: Many cities have an area where there is a large number of European buildings, especially on the southern coast Chongqing is known as the city of bridges because it has the most bridges in a city Reply if I got something wrong Hope this helps you!

I tried out CSUR and created some intersections with it. It is quite impressive! But it is also in it's "first stage" I Think. Later I bet it will become more easy to use I Think. Someone will figure out how to make centered roads work with CSUR:s non centered roads. Beacause roads for one does not interact with SC road wich I hope will come in the future. I Think people is not ready to totally remodel theirs cities, their builds over 6 months or even 2-3 years of building. But the mod itself is Amazing. I like it. But I uninstalled it. I am not at that level of CS building. Im only 3 months in. But 5 stars to the mod. Absolutly. I am gonna follow it's progress. :)
