Redemption. Georgiev plays the best we've seen in a very long time and earns him self a little bit of least back in net. Meanwhile other players who struggled like Josh Manson manage to redeem themselves too.

I really thought you should have covered Nichushkin's goal. His presence in this game cannot be understated. He had multiple opportunities and directly contributed to several others. He continues to be worth every dime he is being paid.

Goes to show how important Makar actually is quarterbacking P1, the second he gets held out to get patched up they powerplay because mediocre. And quarterbacking P2 just didnt have the firepower he is used too.

I had to rewatch the game highlights on .5x to really get a feel for what exactly happened. First goal #20 sees everything. Wins the fo to wood, and celebrates first. I don’t think Kivi noticed till he completed a loop back. Insane goal. #73 did initiate the stick lift on goalie to crate the play but on closer look it was other guy that poked puck off boards to cogs. Cogs made a fantastic pass up. I think it was lecky that told Mack to make pass up to Manson. Real good effort and awareness came from him. And a defended backhand sharp angle from Val shows he’s got the skills even on an empty net. I imagine a 6” area covering the posts as the puck is about 4” in diameter flat of course.. so the line to make that shot couldn’t have been more than about 6” across to score. Just something to think about in general and why so many pucks hit posts in games. It’s not an inch either way to score or miss post. It’s literally 6” most of the time. Maybe it can hit an inch of the post to bank in so 5”… anyway. Great effort and amazing performance by gg. But the other end it would be a normal game if he did this. I hope gg finds his focus and confidence to make this look routine…

I agree with most of this-especially that Giorgiev can't be blamed for either goal. But I don't blame J Johnson for goal #2 either.Could he have played it better-sure but that's an All Star Scheflie-who made a phenomenal play-after a great pass 2 on 1. The other team is good,& occasionally makes great plays also. But at least you didn't blame Giorgiev.Too many simplistic, non nuanced people seriously tried hanging that on him-though to be fair-also did give him due credit for rest of the game. But 3rd period looked a lot like 2022 Avs closing out a game with a lead-not much like this yrs team-whos often behind in the 3rd-& arguably is in better shape when they are behind-lol. I don't expect WPG to make as many defensive mistakes as they did in WPG or Hellunbuck to keep giving up 5 goals a game. And Giorgiev is still by far the biggest question mark in the series. But Avs do have more talent. We don't need elite goaltending,& defense...we might not even need quite as good as last night. But we can't have awful like game 1. We need at least league average to have any chances-but if we consistently get defense & goaltending like last night-Avs will be as tough to beat as anybody.

Idk why I am questioning your takes when you guys have had terrible takes on Georgiev all year, but how could you go into the first intermission not thinking that Avs will “solve” Hellebuyck? They were buzzing and outplaying jets at the end of the 2nd, and Hellebuyck was leaving so many golden opportunities in open nets and juicy rebounds that Avs just didn’t have puck luck on, the end of the first should have told you Avs were gonna put several on Hellebuyck. I still don’t see where Lehky got anything on Makar’s shot, that was a clean Makar goal.

So all the hand wringing and bellyaching from Your homies has been a WASTE of Your viewers time. You didn't think Georgie had it in Him? Quite the admission of blind ignorance. I respect You alot more for Your admission. Eric LaCroix needs straightening out with His dismissals re: goalie play as does AJ.Please float these guys a $5.00 loan each so they can buy themselves a new personality 🍒🍒

The Avs defense only allowed 23 shots on goal in game 1 and 7 went in. That's nearly 1 in every 3 shots that goes in. That's insanely bad for any NHL team let alone in the playoffs. If Annunen would have been healthy in game 1 and Georgiev pulled after the first period the Avs win and would be 2-0 in the series. The job of these guys is to cover what they see and that is exactly what they're doing. If Georgiev had played the same in game 2 I'm sure you would have found something else to complain about anyway. They want him to play well and that's why they were so disappointed because they know he's capable of so much more.

@@sgsheff Are They "covering" or are They "coaching"? La Croix should know better than to raise doubt about the goalie....who leads the league in WINS and was over-used due to circumstances and these nose pickers are sowing scenarios in Their heads. Look for a shut out from Georgie Friday 🚧🚧🚧🚧

@@johndidier7849 you just hurt your own argument. Georgiev only has the most wins because he was overused and not because of his quality of goal tending. He was just in net more often on a good team that is also the team that has the most comeback wins in the NHL which means they've had to just outscore opponents instead of relying on the goal tending. I take it you didn't watch their post game after game 2. They talked about how awesome it was that Georgiev played that well especially after what happened in game 1 and how difficult it must be to hear all of the criticism from people like them and then to turn around and play awesome. They talked about how great it was that he got that opportunity because the backup is sick and it could have happened differently. They and all of us want him to play well and do well but it's not crazy or stupid to point out when he doesn't.

@@sgsheff Coach Bednar would IMO thrash the notion of poodles biting ankles. So called informed opinions are a dime a dozen and are waste of viewers time. You guys talked Your way into a corner and now look at all the explanations....give us ALL a break from opinions re: goaltending. I used to hear how bad Kuemper was ,this and that...guy wins the Stanley Cup. All the wanna be color guy announcers giving us Their sincere opinions...sheesh guys, come up with something that's legit and will stand the test of time, unlike Your prediction that King George doesn't have it. Guys like You helped run Semyon out of town....shame on You. Look for a shut out from Georgie Tomorrow Night.🍒🍒

@@johndidier7849 you're not making any valid points and only doing personal attacks. If I'm not mistaken Varly isn't even starting for his team right now. Why are you even here watching the videos if you hate it so much and think it's such garbage? If anything you're the one spreading hate. They said Georgiev had a bad game which he did and the reason they were upset is because they expect more of him because they know he's better than that. Stating what happened in game 1 isn't an attack on Georgie it's just stating what happened and nothing more but for some reason some people like you just can't handle things like that and are still freaking out about it.

Blaming the goaltender is generally always the lazy stupid easy thing to do. The avalanches team defense is and has been the issue all season long. They probably should have stopped using motion offense around midseason with how inconsistent they have been on the defensive side of the puck but it also creates a lot of goals so i dont blame them trying to figure it out but they really need to focus more on the defensive side of the puck as they all jump on offense n look to get points all to often. If you have blamed goergie the last two weeks of the reg season then you shouldnt talk about hockey ever again but i get it as its easy clicks but also know your hockey iq is zero. Georgie had a bad game after weeks of playing behind the worst defensive play I've ever seen from a professional hockey team as prime patty roy himself would have been lit up.

If you aren't blaming a goaltender for a sub .700 performance then I guess we just don't see eye to eye. The defense certainly has it's issues but so has georgiev.

Wtf are you talking about? By no metric have the Avs been playing notably worse defense than a normal NHL team, in fact stats show the opposite. Georgie let in FIVE more goals than expected in a game where the team only let up 23 shot attempts. Game 1 was completely on him and the team in front of him straight up played better on Sunday than they did last night overall. The difference in game 2 was goaltending.

I love how you watch this team be probably the best in the cap era in 2022, absolutely unstoppable, and the you think they need to change their entire structure to slow the team down? Why change their primary plan and system strength? When they play like they can, like they did in this game, almost no one can keep up. This is the best defense in the league, it transitions the puck out and onto a scoring opportunity faster than the other team can catch up. You're the guy that looks at a Ferrari with a flat tire and says what it really needs is a pickup bed and more ground clearance
