These trailers have been built in Australia. Every country, state and territory has it's own regulations so some of this may not apply to you or be incorrect for your region.

You are welcome. I hope it helps. Please be careful and make sure you or someone you are working with has the engineering knowledge to put it together. A good welder is a must but also need to know how to design the structure. I have some experience but still consulted people on the design. Especially when you are putting so much weight on them. Good luck! Please share the progress 👊

Thank you. I think working with tools the one thing I have discovered is there is always more to learn. If we stop learning we stagnate. I appreciate the knowledge of others and I think social media is a great place to collaborate if everyone approaches it with curiosity and humility. Thank you for the comment Rebecca 😃

On the side trailer, yes. I needed the strength. But also, it winds up far enough and is close enough to the towball that it will not affect towing.

Are you willing to share the thickness of the steel you used for the "joists (600mm centres)" across your trailer. I am assuming their 50x50x2mm and the heavier gauge on some other parts of the trailer is 75x50x3mm. I like the extra effort you have gone to all over these trailers, adding strength in critical places and aesthetics like the angled corners. If you wanted you could google "Penetrol" you can spray it over your springs and axles to help stop them getting surface rust.
@TwoHandsandaTinyHouse
@TwoHandsandaTinyHouse 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks John. I'm not sharing specifications on this one as I can't be confident everyone following has the knowledge to build a safe trailer and more so that what I'm sharing is adequate and safe. I've tried to put enough in here so someone who does know enough can fill in some gaps. I think you fall into that category and I'd say you are on the right path 😉. Very happy with how they have stood up. I did 600 but time again I'd do 450 centers. Only adds an extra rib or so but allows you to use thinner flooring. Check out my vid on the flooring. Do 450 then use 18mm OSB. Those I like taking pride in what i build I really enjoy the aesthetic of those extra bits. And strengthening the hangers are a MUST. Yeah I know penatrol, didn't even think of it. Cheers 👊

Hi, 0:41 With the ladder truss design, how do you determine the dimension in between the ladder bar. Also, what are its dimension and your wheel's dimension to accomodate? Thanks
@TwoHandsandaTinyHouse
@TwoHandsandaTinyHouse 2 жыл бұрын
Honestly I didn't really calculate it as such I just put them at 600 centres. The trailers are 4800x2400mm. The wheels are 14" but it's more about their load rating than the size. The tyre will be rated to a weight and all four tires must exceed the rated weight of the trailer. Your springs and axles are all covered by standards that will dictate their max capacity.

Thank you. Depends on experience. It took me just over a month solo to do both. But I reckon I could do it in much less time now. And I spent the time to tidy corners etc. Level of finish takes a little longer

I won't be for the trailers unfortunately. I'm not an engineer and can't be sure what I am sharing is safe. While my goal is to help everyone DIY, trailers one of the few things I don't recommend everyone do. It takes some knowledge to make sure they will be safe on the road. A tiny house is probably the the worst you can legally stress a trailer. I am so sorry I won't share more on this one, my channel is all about sharing as much knowledge as possible but I want to make sure everyone is safe and I can't be confident I can guide everyone to do so with plans. I hope you understand 😊

Nice fabn brother i'm looking into duel axel setups of course there is a lot to choose from I'm thinking a 3200kg as the 2000kg just doesn't sound big enough any thoughts.
@TwoHandsandaTinyHouse
@TwoHandsandaTinyHouse 3 жыл бұрын
How long are you going? Definitely do 3200kg. And honestly I'd consider the extra money and go up to 4500kg. My trailers are strong enough to do 4500 but I kept the axles and springs at 3200 as it was more cost effective. 3000 was my target so I figured it'd be fine. But as I build and stress about weight I can't help but feel 4500 would have given me peace of mind if I go over.

Hi im andon from Sydney, im very interested in buying a tiny house for myself, preferably off the grid. I have a budget of about $2000 max, Im not fussy about materials except to say hope strong enough to withstand the elements. You think I can get a tiny house for $2000 or less? And would have you currently have any for sale?

Mate... 2k AUD for a tiny house is not a lot. Your only bet would be to work with second hand salvaged and recycled materials. You can save HEAPS doing it that way. Build it slowly over time and collect materials it's possible for 2k
