Picking up where they left off, at the abandoned Pircas Negras border crossing, Chad and Rose manage to "find" fresh water, before continuing their journey off the map, and into the void.
After exploring the Mars-like landscape of the Argentinean Altiplano, stumbling upon the skeleton of an anonymous man, and maxing out their fuel range, they return (briefly) to civilization.
Fueling up and re-stocking their food supply, they venture toward Paso de San Francisco to explore more of the remote backroads of the Andean Wilderness.

Not just the best video you guys have ever produced, but by far the best motorcycle adventure channel out there, BAR NONE ! Eat your heart out itchy boots. This episode had me on the edge of my seat right to the end. I thought the disaster was going to be the loss of your front brakes & y’all careening down the dirt road. Thanks again for all the road signs. It’s great to track you on Google Earth.

Another superlative video, guys! I doubt it gets easier but your riding adventures through South America are so prolific it does make wonder how much more confident and comfortable you have become in managing the myriad challenges you’ve met, like it or not, and then creating compelling stories to share with the world. You’re champs! And I loved listening to your podcast talks on Adventure Rider Radio! Wishing you more success and amazing adventures in 2024 and for years to come. Peace

Wow, thank you!! Glad you had a chance to listen to the ARR podcast as well! I'm not sure how much confidence or capability come into play, but I'd say our style of travel is certainly a lot more "relaxed" than it once was. Maybe we've just gotten lazy... 😂 But...we've definitely been putting a lot more time and effort into our edits. Luckily, we both really enjoy it. Plenty of "creators" don't actually enjoy the process of creating, and it shows!! Cheers and Happy New Year! 🍻

Awesome baby volcano. I was waiting, you put your hand in the water. I would have done the same thing, be careful, but ice around is a good sign not scalding water. Bizarre with the open grave. I’m a bone radiologist, was looking for tell tale sign on the bones. ¡Buen viaje mis amigos!
@TwoWheelsThreeSheets
@TwoWheelsThreeSheets 5 ай бұрын
Yeah, with as cold as it was, there would have been a plume of steam had the water been scalding. I would guess it was probably about 50° f, so definitely warmer than the ambient temperature, but far from hot. What, if anything, were you able to tell from the condition of the bones?? 🤔
@chipm2544
@chipm2544 5 ай бұрын
From what I can see, pretty limited, but no obvious bone injury or lesion. Bones have been moved around, ulna on top of the humerus, right femur crossing the lumbar spine. Very clean looking, no tissue. @@TwoWheelsThreeSheets
@TwoWheelsThreeSheets
@TwoWheelsThreeSheets 5 ай бұрын
How long do you think it would take given those conditions for a body to decompose to that degree?
@chipm2544
@chipm2544 5 ай бұрын
Short answer, I can’t tell. Would take involvement for forensic analysis (various methods), and I’m not trained in that. There was no remaining tissue that I could see. The person in that grave could have been there just long enough to lose all tissue or way beyond that. What I have heard is can be large variation in decomposition depending on conditions. Forensic training puts bodies in various conditions, follows that to get an idea of decomposition with timeline, but again, environmental conditions can cause wide variation in results. Interesting field, but all my patients are alive.

@amygregfrancisco4372 yeah, the footage from this episode was shot mid-may 2023... Just about all of the active motovloggers I am aware of run at least a few months behind. Although a lot of em are a bit "trickier" and coordinate their social media posts to coincide with their videos to make it appear as if they're in real time. That's just too much damn work in my opinion!! 😅

Wow what another incredible video, man I’d love to be there, a few questions, what was the water temp at that volcano? I would have set up camp there just because of the remoteness of that landscape, so that poor fellow in that crypt, I bet there family back home asking, why don’t he write, just saying. I love that terrain that your covering, just a place I wished we had similar in the states, so what in the hell happen at the end of this video, I know wait until the next, are you guys still down there now or back home? If u can answer. Take care and look forward to the next video. Rob Ala.

Hey Rob, thanks for watching! Well, after this we continued poking around the Andes, rode North on Ruta-40, hit Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, crossed the width of the Amazon basin back into Brazil, and rode North to French Guiana, where I sit as I type this... Water temps were probably around 50F... but the water froze promptly upon spilling over. And as far ascthe landscape... have you ever ridden in and around Death Valley?? Lots of cool riding and stuff to see out that way. Similar, but different! 😁

No... it was probably around 50°F, so it was certainly warmer than the surrounding groundwater, but nowhere near hot.

How do you prepare against wildlife bothering you in the evening/night whilst you camp outdoors away from civilization??
@TwoWheelsThreeSheets
@TwoWheelsThreeSheets 4 ай бұрын
Animals typically avoid human contact. Rodents sometimes come around looking for food, but you just have to be sure to clean up / pack up / secure anything that may attract them. In desert environments you sometimes have to keep a watchful eye out for snakes and scorpions. They sometimes like to take shelter in the nooks and crannies.

Not that I can recall... above 14k feet or so, I need to shut it down and allow the FI / mapping / ignition (whatever) to recalibrate every 500 feet (elevation increase) or so. But once I do, it runs fine...
