Houston will get about $12.4 billion to improve roads over the next 10 years, which means your traffic headaches are just beginning.

Houston is too car centric I honestly wonder if I can donate to getting more metrorail in place. No one wants the freeway expanded.

For Houston to be the 4th largest city in America and soon the 3rd surpassing Chicago but it’s such an irrelevant city and terrible transportation from traffic to public

Meanwhile Dallas metro has really impressive mass transit. Houston is actually more liberla and Democrat then dallas, do I don't understand why our politicians keep doubling down on freeways and buses when it is proven to just make things worse. Its sad. Houston has so much potential, the transit you do have is decent. If only it was expanded by a factor of 10 lol.

It’s scary how there is no talk of commuter and metro rail. The global standard is rail connecting airports to high density commercial districts. If they can build a plethora of high ways, they could build rail infrastructure. This is why DFW will sadly leave them in the dust. The leadership has no vision.

More lanes more traffic more tax dollars for local residents when it's all done which will more than likely raise the real estate market.

Exactly. I even want our light rail to connect to heavy rail and they can just be parallel to freight tracks.

@@jayasmrmore3687 heavy/commuter rail to connect suburbs and exburbs like Katy, Conroe (possibly Huntsville)Galveston, prairie view and Rosenberg via Sugarland and Missouri city. Like you said , share existing tracks , that is exactly what Chicago did with The Metra commuter rail. How could they build light rail east of the city, non crossing west of Main, but the population density is all west with no light rail infrastructure? At the least , both airports and perhaps the Katy airport being a third regional airport, should be connected to the CBD, Medical Center and uptown. The true litmus test of a ‘real city ‘is am i able to get off of a train or plane and travel every where I need to go without a car?

@@jayasmrmore3687 i wasn’t implying a need to transfer airports. I was commenting on how evolved cities with adequate infrastructure and multiple airports can fly in to any of those airports and travel into the city centers via rail. Madrid, London, Chicago, Toronto, Berlin, Washington , DC etc etc

At this point every major road in Houston is gonna have major updates and expansions. This just says how much the Texas highways are really great. However we depend to much on it and Texas at this point has the best highways in the world lol. It keeps growing including where I currently live which is Houston. Our suburbs and city are packed more people are moving here! It will never end either. I'm just hoping Texas can go back to full republican.
